not come home for lunch. I eat alone. I wash the dishes. I sit on the sofa. The house is quiet. The house is big, but it feels like a prison. Today, I clean the study. I see an old book on the shelf. I open the book. A dried flower falls out. It is a red rose.

It is very old and brown now. I remember this flower. My hands shake. I was 18 years old. I was in high school. I was happy then. I had a boyfriend. He was my only love. Clement was a kind boy. He had brown eyes and dark hair. He smiled all the time. We walked home from school together.
