Terms of Service
Last updated: June 30, 2026
These Terms of Service govern your use of yttotranscript.com and the YTtoTranscriptbrowser extension (collectively, the “Service”), operated by Rishav Raj (“we”, “us”). By using the Service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
What the Service does
YTtoTranscript retrieves publicly available caption and speech data from YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok videos and presents it as a formatted transcript. We do not download, host, or redistribute video or audio files. We act as a read-only interface to data that is already publicly accessible on those platforms.
Acceptable use
You may use transcripts for:
- Personal notes, research, and study.
- Accessibility purposes, including reading along or assisting hearing-impaired users.
- Journalism, commentary, and criticism that falls within fair use or fair dealing in your jurisdiction.
- Creating derivative works where you hold the necessary rights or permissions.
You may not use the Service to:
- Reproduce or redistribute transcripts of third-party content in ways that infringe copyright.
- Scrape, crawl, or send automated requests to the Service at a rate that disrupts normal operation.
- Attempt to bypass rate limits, bot protection, or other security measures.
- Use the Service for any purpose that violates applicable law or the terms of service of the underlying platform (YouTube, Instagram, or TikTok).
Third-party content and copyright
Transcripts generated by the Service contain speech and caption content created by third parties. YTtoTranscript does not claim ownership of that content. Responsibility for respecting the intellectual property rights of video creators rests entirely with you. When in doubt, seek permission from the content creator before publishing or distributing a transcript.
YTtoTranscript is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or in any way officially connected to YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, or their parent companies.
No warranties
The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that transcripts will be complete, accurate, or error-free. Automatic speech recognition is imperfect and captions generated by platforms may contain errors. Do not rely on transcripts for purposes where verbatim accuracy is legally or professionally required without independent verification.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, YTtoTranscript and Rishav Raj shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to errors in transcripts, service downtime, or reliance on generated content. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim (which for free users is zero).
Service availability
We make reasonable efforts to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without notice. Third-party platforms may change their APIs or policies in ways that affect our ability to retrieve transcript data; we are not liable for such changes.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in India.
