Privacy Policy

• Video links you submit. When you paste a video URL (on the site or via the extension), we send it to our transcription service to generate the transcript.
• Generated transcripts. Transcripts are cached temporarily so repeat requests are faster and cheaper. They are tied to the video, not to you, and are not linked to any personal identity.
• Basic technical data. Like most websites, our servers and providers process your IP address and request metadata to deliver the service, prevent abuse, and apply rate limits.
• Anonymous analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate usage (page views, general location, device type). This data is not used to identify you personally.

• We do not require or store names, emails, or passwords.
• We do not collect payment information.
• The browser extension does not read your page content, browsing history, or personal data — it only reads the URL of the video on your active tab when you choose to transcribe it.

We rely on a few trusted providers to run the service:

• Supadata — generates transcripts from the video URLs you submit.
• Vercel — hosts the website and processes requests.
• Upstash — caches transcripts and powers rate limiting.
• Cloudflare Turnstile — protects the site from bots and abuse.
• Google Analytics — anonymous usage statistics.

Each provider processes data only as needed to deliver their part of the service.

We use minimal cookies, primarily for Google Analytics. You can block cookies in your browser settings without affecting your ability to generate transcripts.

Cached transcripts are stored for a limited period and then expire automatically. We do not maintain user profiles or long-term records of individual activity.

YTtoTranscript is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

Because we don’t hold accounts or personal profiles, there is little personal data to access or delete. If you have any questions or requests regarding your data, contact us and we’ll help.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
