How I Build Motion Graphs Fast in Unreal Engine

You can add nodes by right-clicking on the graph and selecting a new node. Or you can drag off a node, release anywhere in the graph, and then select a new node to autoconnect to. making a chain of nodes. When you're working with multiple channels, they're usually connected in parallel. Instead of individually wiring them, you can select all the pins and then drag them as a group. Once you connect to a node, the pins on the other side will be automatically selected. Then you can drag them as well. This way, you can join together multiple nodes very quickly. It's pretty

common to have an existing motion graph setup that you need to expand and add more actors to. So, here I'm going to add some additional point lights. You could individually resize each node in the chain, then connect them and resize the next one, but that takes a while. So instead, you can just drag it onto the node. Make sure you hover slightly below the

existing channels and then drop. If you hover just below the existing channels, new channels will be automatically created. You don't always want to connect channels in parallel. Sometimes you want many channels to feed into one single channel or conversely for one channel to feed into many other channels. So when you drag multiple channels, if you press and hold shift,

those wires will become stacked on top of each other. And wherever you drag them to, they'll all connect to that channel instead of connecting in parallel.
