In this video, I want to show you how to calculate the distribution of electric potential around an insulator string in the clean condition and also how to calculate the electric field along the insulator. Let's dive into [Music] it. I explain this simulation in two different methods. The first method, the metal part, the conductors are included
in the simulation. In the second method, I exclude the conductors from the simulation because we already know that electric fields inside conductors in low frequencies is zero. Therefore, we do not need to simulate them. If you recall, we have built such a geometry in our previous video. If you don't know how to build this geometry, please refer
to that video above. Now I want to make from this insulator an array with say five cap pin insulators and then calculate the electric fields around the insulator. Okay, first I want to know how to duplicate this insulator downward. This part should come here in this hole. Therefore you can come here into this sketch. There is an option
says Y distance. Select Y distance. I want to measure the y distance from this point to this point. It is about 15 cm. Now I go to the geometry uh under the transform select array. I select all of my objects and I want five insulator to make a string and it should be
duplicated 15 cm downward. Build all objects. Now we have our string. We also want a rectangle around this insulator string to simulate the surrounding air.
