Hey guys, how are you? Welcome to this new video I am Olbaid and this is episode 4 of the full course for FL Studio 20 from scratch. We know the workflow how to add sounds to channel rack and even some basic editions but is time to move on with edition of the score
in other words, the piano roll Let's insert a new instrument just like we did before in past videos and select the piano FL Keys
In the previous video, I showed you how to activate the notes clicking in the step secuencer To tell the program when we want the sound to be played
But we want to edit the melody that this piano will be playing right click on the channel and select "Piano Roll" This is the "Piano Roll" related to that channel or instrument. Another way is selecting the channel and clicking this button "Piano roll" Or select the channel and then press F7 You can choose any way you like
So this is the "Piano roll" view up here is something known as the timeline, that will move from left to right, if you press play activates the cursor When the cursor reaches the note it will play. Pretty similar to what we saw here And the steps of Step secuencer Actually, you can see the active steps
inside the piano roll. But let's return to the piano here you can see which instrument you are editing Click and select any of the other channels already loaded in the channel rack Ok, the simplest action is to create notes inside piano roll. Just left click anywhere and the note will appear You can choose the "Pencil tool"
