You recently drew attention to a fascinating new report from Israel. Let's bring this up to the screen from your Substack. Israel's new and terrifying

security doctrine . You note that they now call the United States a “ failed state” because of ongoing social and political shifts that will lead to the abandonment of Israel in any case. And this is forcing Israel to move toward greater self-sufficiency to avoid over- reliance on the United States. This may sound like

music to your ears, but some of the other consequences, as you write, are somewhat horrifying. Can you tell us what they discovered and how it will affect the region? So, this is a very important report. It attracted a lot of attention in Israel itself. It was written by a man who is a

former major general in the Israeli army and now heads one of the leading think tanks, INSS. And they...He doesn't advocate it. This is very important to understand. He does not state that this is the doctrine that the Israelites must follow. On the contrary, he argues that it has become a de facto doctrine that they are

already implementing. And then he lays out the principles underlying this doctrine. And this is where it gets really interesting. Not only that, in essence, Israelis now view the United States not simply as a declining state, but as a country with which Israel ultimately needs to sever relations in order to preserve its own

independence and Jewish character. He then examines how Israeli doctrine now views the rest of the region. And it says that one of the key features of this new doctrine that is emerging—or already established but not voiced—is, for example, the refusal to recognize the independent existence of Arab states.
