Most traders spend years doing exactly what I did, stacking indicators, jumping from strategy to strategy, overcomplicating every single trade, and thinking the answer is just one more piece of information away. I started trading in college with about $6,000. No finance background, no mentor, no real plan. And for years, I struggled doing all the things that you're probably

doing right now. Chasing trades, overtrading, second-guessing everything, and feeling like you're close, but never actually getting there. And that's the trap, feeling like you're close, because it keeps you stuck repeating the same mistakes. It took me over a decade to figure this out. That same $6,000 account turned into an eight-figure portfolio. And the thing that changed

everything was not complexity. It was simplifying everything down to what actually matters. If you've been trading for months or years and still can't find consistency, this is going to show you exactly where you're going wrong and what to do instead. Section one, years of doing it wrong. Let me take you back to how I used to trade. My charts were a

complete mess. RSI, MACD, moving averages, volume, Bollinger Bands, I had everything on there. And I thought that made me a better trader. I thought more information meant better decisions. But, what actually happened was every trade became harder to take. RSI says buy, MACD says sell, price is at resistance, but maybe it breaks, and now you're

stuck. You hesitate, you miss entries, then you chase late because you don't want to miss the move. And now your entry is worse, your risk is worse, and your emotions are already involved. Or, you take the trade anyway without clarity. And when it doesn't work, you're frustrated. Then you go look for something new, new strategy, new

indicator, new system, something that feels like it's going to fix the problem. And it works for a little bit. You get a few wins, you feel good, you think you figured it out. Then it stops working, and now you're back to doubt. And then you switch again. The wins, the losses, the doubt, and you keep

switching over and over between different strategies. That cycle is what keeps most traders stuck. It's not because they're not capable, but because they never stay in one place long enough to actually build real understanding. And I personally went through this for years, constantly searching, constantly tweaking, and constantly thinking the answer was one adjustment away. But, I

wasn't building anything. I was just resetting over and over again. Section two, the low point. There was a point where all of this caught up to me. I was in a trade down big. Instead of cutting it, I held, and then I added, then I told myself it would come back. And it

didn't. I sat there watching my account drop, knowing what I should do, but not doing it. That moment right there is where most traders lose. It's not on the chart, but it's in their decisions. It's not the setup that destroys you. It's what you do when you're wrong. I remember thinking to myself, "What am I

doing? Years into this, and I'm still emotional, still inconsistent, and still reacting instead of following a plan." That's the moment where you either keep going down that path, or you change everything. And for me, that's where the shift started. Section three, the shift. I stopped asking what the best strategy was and started asking why nothing I

tried was working consistently. The answer was simple. I was doing too much, too many inputs, too much noise, too many decisions. So, I stripped everything off my chart. No indicators, no distractions, just price. And I focused on one thing, levels. Support and resistance. Where has the price reacted before? Where do we see strong

moves? Where did buyers step in, and where did sellers take control? Because those areas show you where real decisions are happening in the market. At first, it felt too simple, like I was missing something. But, that's because most traders are conditioned to believe complexity equals edge. But, in reality, simplicity allows you to execute. I

stopped predicting what the market would do, and I started reacting to what it was actually doing. That shift alone changes everything. Section four, execution. Now, let's talk about what this actually looks like. Before the market opens, I already have a plan. I'm not figuring things out in real time. I'm looking at SPX, and then I'm looking

at QQQ. This is your compass. And I ask myself the question, "Are we trending, or have we been ranging?" If we're ranging, I already know conditions are tougher. I size down, I take profits quicker, and I'm more selective. If we're trending, I can be more aggressive. Breakouts work better, and moves have follow-through. And I can let

trades develop. That trade decision alone changes how I trade the entire day. Next, I already have my levels marked. These are not random lines. These are areas where price has clearly reacted before. Now the market opens. The first five to 10 minutes, I usually do nothing. It's the most volatile period of the market, and I'm watching.

It's very messy. There's fake moves in both directions, fast reversals, and I want to see the clear direction. So, I'll wait upwards of 30 minutes to an hour. Then the price starts approaching one of my levels. When it does, let's say we come into support. Most people buy right away. For me, it depends on

the market conditions. I want to see how the price reacts first. Does it flush under the level, or does it defend and bounce? Does it reclaim it after losing the level? And do buyers step in with strength? If I see that, then I'm interested in buying calls. I'll enter on the bounce, not trying to guess the

bottom. And once I'm in, I already know what my true risk is. The level fails, then I size for zero, and I let the trade play out. trade works, I'll take profits into strength. I'll sell half above 40%, upwards of 50%, just to lock something in and build momentum and confidence. Now I'm calm. The trade

keeps going great. If it pulls back, I already got paid. The level fails, I may sell the rest of the position, but I'm not going to sit there hoping. That's how accounts eventually get blown up. And this is important because not every level is tradeable. Sometimes the price hits your level, and nothing happens.

That's not a missed trade, that's discipline. Most money in trading is made waiting. Section five, why most people fail. Here's the truth. Knowing all of this is not enough. Most of you already understand it, but you don't follow it consistently because you don't trust in the process yet. So, you hesitate, you second-guess, and then you

go back to the old habits, and you end up in this same cycle over and over again. The problem is not knowledge, it's execution. And execution, like I've said, it comes from repetition. So, you need to do the same thing over and over again until it becomes automatic. That's how you build confidence. It's not from

watching content. It's not from reading random books or scrolling through X, but it's from actually putting in the reps and putting in the work. Section six, final message. After 16 years, here's what I can tell you. The traders who make it are not the smartest, and they're not using complicated strategies. They're the ones who

simplify and stick to it. They stop looking for the next thing and start mastering what's already in front of them. If you've been struggling, the answer's probably not more, it's less.
