Before the Egypt 2026 Forum sessions begin, the contours of one of its most important economic files have already started to take shape: How can Egypt move from managing pressures and containing shocks to a more productive, export-oriented, and competitive economy? This is the question that the third workshop of think tanks placed at the forefront of the forum's
preparations. The workshop turned into an innovative space for outlining the national economic transformation program for the 2027–2030 period ahead of the Egypt 2026 Forum sessions, especially with the current IMF program set to conclude in December 2026. Hence , a set of priorities began to take shape before the Egypt Forum. 2026, headed by expanding the private
sector's role, increasing foreign direct investment, raising productivity , and boosting exports and employment, while directing resources and incentives toward sectors most capable of creating added value and job opportunities. The workshop also brought more sensitive files to the Egypt 2026 Forum agenda, ranging from exchange rate flexibility and short-term capital flows to debt, energy, foreign currency, and social
protection, alongside the importance of clarifying the state's role and policy stability for investors. Participants emphasized that the Egypt 2026 Forum discussions must be based on accurate data and real-world conditions, link projects to funding sources, the budget , and the investment plan, and support small and medium enterprises while leveraging the Suez Canal Economic Zone
and international partnerships. Thus, the Egypt 2026 Forum does not only come to discuss the post-IMF phase, but to shape its features through a national program led by production, exports, and investment, targeting more sustainable growth that reflects on job opportunities and the standard of living.
