Our dear students, students of the Nursing Diploma, Pharmacology for Nurses Part 1 course, we meet again with a new lecture in the Pharmacology for Nursing course.

Last time, in the first lecture, we talked about general pharmacology. We gave introductions to drugs and pharmacology, defined drugs and their sources, and discussed something very important, which is summarized in the word "administration": administration, distribution, absorption, metabolism, and excretion of the

drug. That was the last part we talked about. Today, we will continue our discussion on general pharmacology. Last lecture, we stopped at slide number 24.

If we talk about medical pharmacology and break this term down into parts, we can divide it into three sections: root, prefix, and bio, which means the biological part. Bioavailability, which refers to the

portion of a drug that is administered and reaches the bloodstream, is what we mean by it. We give a patient a drug; this drug could be oral, IV, AM, or Specific. Anyway, what was the route of administration? These drugs enter the body, and the body begins to process them through the four stages we discussed: absorption, distribution,

metabolism, and excretion. Now, when we say bioavailability, we mean the portion of the drug we gave to this patient that reached the systemic circulation directly. It's
