Hey beautiful people, how's it going? Today's lesson is history, but I'm not going to teach it. I'm going to teach it, period. García, I'm referring to García, the author of this fabulous book, "The History of Trap," which I've finally received and been able to read. The guy is killing it; it's already in its
second edition, and he doesn't even have publishing support. So, I've really recommended it as a way to support someone who's really working hard. Many of you are probably thinking, "Do we need a book on the history of trap? Is it necessary?" Well, yes, I think it's necessary because of a very important issue:
misinformation. I don't know about our country, but this is a very rigid, very traditional country where new things are hard to digest. They move much more slowly than normal. A very basic example is telling you that today, well, you know, the history of hip hop is a movement that was born in the late 70s in New York. Even though
that history has been written for a long time, I still run into people—I mean, I still run into people, not necessarily older people, but young people—who still ask me what the difference is between the music. Hip hop and rap music... let's see, I'd already given up on hip hop, let's see if you have better luck with trap.
