Moving Through Infinite Space – TouchDesigner Tutorial 37

all right welcome back to new touch designer tutorial and in this one we're going to look at how to create this illusion of moving through an infinite space and um yeah we're gonna build this uh rather complex project here in the next half an hour um but the the technique is really quite

simple so just skip to that if you just wanna see uh see the technique um this is really quite the versatile technique so we're gonna use instancing here and um if you're generally working with texture instancing so top instancing um then then you can there's many ways how you can apply this so this is just one way and i think

there's also some other cool tricks for you to learn in here so yeah let's just dive into it um just one thing i want to show you two things i want to show you uh one thing is like you can easily change the camera here so to make this look quite interesting actually and the other thing is

you we can also do some post processing just so you can see how you can apply this sort of thing so this is using the comic look from my other tutorial and just some inversion and edging right there okay so let's get started so as usual i'm just going to go ahead and delete everything

i'm going to start with the pillars and the arches so i'm going to make a little base here base component and by pressing c i can now color it and i'm going to call this pillar and move in here and this is a bit uh tricky or like uh hacky but um i think it's a nice way to create

these pillars so i'm gonna create a super quad and drop that in here and uh just give it a hundred and rows and columns and change the xy exponent to 1.5 and the z component to zero and now we get this sort of i don't know how you call that shape we get a shape
