Now, focus here. I’m showing you places where Peter takes Old Testament texts about Yahweh and applies them to the Lord Jesus Christ and says of Jesus what cannot be said of a mere creature. Peter, being a monotheistic Jew, knows his Old Testament, which shows that Peter worshiped Jesus as Jehovah in the flesh—Yahweh in the flesh.

Here it is: 1 Peter 3:14-15. You’ve got to cross-reference it with 1 Peter 2:8. Watch here; Peter identifies Jesus Christ, our Lord, as that living Stone—the choice Stone that was rejected by disbelievers, the Stone that caused disbelievers to stumble, and a Rock of Offense. See right here? He’s talking about our Lord. Notice this language;

He’s a Stone of stumbling and a Rock of offense. Now watch; pay attention here. This one is interesting. Okay, now 1 Peter 3:14-15. Pay attention: “But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are blessed.” Let me put it in full screen. You are blessed. Why? Do not fear their fear.

Do not fear what people fear. Do not be troubled. But sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness. Now, I’ve given you the Greek and transliteration; it’s going to be important.

Notice it says, “Sanctify Christ as Lord.” Pay attention to the Greek: “Do not fear their fear. Do not be troubled.” Because if you know your Old Testament, especially if you read it in Greek, Peter is quoting Isaiah 8:12-14. Watch what he’s referencing: Isaiah 8:12-14. “You are not to say it is a conspiracy, and you are not to fear what they fear.”
