So, my Pinterest numbers are finally finally going back up. And it's not because I started pinning like a whole bunch more. I just changed how I was pinning and came up with a pretty straightforward strategy that looks like it's finally working. I started this um just after Christmas, so it's been almost a month and every week my

impressions and outbound clicks have slowly been creeping back up when they have just been going down for all last quarter. So, it's exciting. I'm happy to finally see results. And today I'm going to share with you exactly step by step what my strategy is. This video should be helpful for any blogger or content

creator or online business, just anybody that wants to get more traffic or more eyes on their pins. Really quick, I'm Megan. I'm a recipe blogger. I've been doing this for a while and I share a lot of Pinterest and SEO tips on this channel. So don't forget to subscribe so you don't miss all this free knowledge

that I'm sharing over here. I decided let's try and switch up my strategy. Clearly, my lowmaintenance longterm strategy that I've been using forever is not working. And I did. And I'm finally seeing the numbers go back up. So, again, even in this world of just a bunch of AI content and more competition

on the platform, the strategy seems to be working. So, if you've been a little frustrated with the numbers over there yourself, I encourage you to give this a try. It's pretty straightforward. I'm going to break it down step by step. The first step is doing keyword research using the Pinterest trends tool, which

is free and it's also going to give you the information that people are actually searching for in Pinterest. So, as soon as I have my blog post finished, the very first thing I do is go in and use the Pinterest trends tool before I start designing my pins. And the first thing I'm going to search for is the same

keywords that I structured my blog post around. So, I'm actually working on some SEO videos for you guys, but whenever you're doing a post, whatever your niche is, you should have keywords that you're trying to target in that post. You pick a set of keywords and work on getting those into that piece of content so that

Google and other search engines can figure out what your blog post is about and get it in front of the right people. So, I'm going to give you an example, and I'm going to actually give you one that's not recipe related. Let's say I wrote a post called Small Entryway organization ideas for busy families.

I'm now going to go over to the Pinterest trends tool. And just a quick little tip here, this tool is, in my opinion, much easier to use on a desktop than on your phone. It's just easier to see the information that it gives you. So, I recommend checking it out on a desktop. So, once you're in the

Pinterest Trends tool, which is on your menu, just click Pinterest Trends. You're going to want to click on this little magnifying glass on the left that says search trends. Now I need to clear some defaults that pop up for myself. And you should see a search bar at the top right where it

says search for a keyword. So since my post was called small entryway organization ideas, I'm going to start searching small entry and you'll see right away it's going to prepopulate terms that are already being searched, keywords that are searched in Pinterest and it's going to give you some information regarding those keywords. So, right away, this first

one, it looks like they split up entryway into two words. Um, it has a strong spike. This is a graph of the the overall search volume for the year. It looks like it spikes and then drops off. So, um, I don't think we spell it as two words. I think it's one. So, down here

where it's spelled as one word, you can see it's more consistent um, traffic or search volume. So, I'm going to click on this one right away. It's pretty close to my post. Um, it doesn't say organization, but small entryway ideas is super close. So, I'm going to click on that, and it's going to take you to a

new screen where it gives you a lot more information on that set of keywords. So, this graph right here is going to show me over the past year how often it's being searched throughout the year. If that is a different date range right here, I would change that to one year. So, if you scroll down past this graph,

you're actually going to see some other related keywords that Pinterest is recommending based on the ones that you entered. So, we have very small entryway ideas, just entryway, hallway decor. Some of these don't really fit. Um, very small entryway ideas could work. I'm going to click on that to to compare them. And I'm also,

you know what, entryway is a little broad. Let's go up. So you can see on what I clicked very small entryways is now green. So it's going to show me the information for that set of keywords in green on here. So that's a lot smaller. I'm not sure if I'm going to target

those words, but this is good um good comparison. So I'm going to go back up to here cuz I don't love all the words that it just recommended. Um, and I'm going to try using the word organization because that's a word in the set of, you know, that's what I was writing about,

organization ideas for small entryways. So, I'm going to try and see what comes up with that word. So, you know, right away when I type organization, it is prepopulating some things and organization ideas for the home definitely fits this post. I'm going to click on that and get the information. it looks like for this one in purple.

And you can kind of see that this one has a good amount of search volume. It's definitely a more broad term, but what I'm looking for here are keywords to to make two new boards from. So, I'm using the original set of keywords that I did my post about. Um, and then I'm looking

for a set of two more. And I'll kind of dive into the boards a little bit later, but the goal in here is to get some ideas for what I can make two new boards about. So, this is a really good idea. I could definitely do a board for organiz organization ideas for the home and my

post would fit really well under that board. So, this tool is really Pinterest telling me what people are looking for instead of me having to guess what keywords I should be putting in my boards or my pins. So, I have two that I like that I've kind of targeted here, but um I'm going to put in organization

one more time and see if I can get one more. And since this is for small entryways, I'm going to put in small and see what happens. So, we see small closet, it's not really a closet. Oh, here is one that would work. Small space organization. So, let's click on that one. And that What color is that

going to be? that's going to show in orange. So, let's see. It looks like it is a little lower volume as far as how often it's being searched. However, that's not necessarily a bad thing. I really like this idea. Small space organization, organization ideas for the home, and small entryway ideas. This is

a really good set of keywords that we can now build two new boards around. I pin to one existing board, and then I also look for two new boards that I can create. um based on whatever my post is. So, now that I did my keyword research and I have three sets of keywords that

I'm going to work with, I'm going to go make two pins for each of those set of keywords. Each of these pins is going to have different text overlay, slightly different design maybe, but they are all going to have the same URL. They're all going to be for the same blog post, but

each pin is going to be targeting a different set of keywords that people are searching for on Pinterest. For example, I'm going to have two pins with text overlay that includes the words small entryway ideas. I'm going to have two pins that have text overlay with organization ideas for the home worked into it. And two pins with the text

overlay, small space organization. You can work that in however you want. You can add to that, you know, for example, organization ideas for the home, 11 small entryway hacks, something like that. But you want to work in the keywords that you found into two two pins for each set of keywords. Once your

pins are ready to go, you are ready to pin to your boards. And now we have to have a strategy for pinning to those boards. I personally pin one to an already established board and then I create two new boards. If you don't have any established, then just go ahead and make three brand new boards. And again,

we're going to base these boards on the set of keywords that we picked. So, your name for each of the boards should really be that exact set of keywords that you're trying to match. So, one board would be called small entryway ideas, one small space organization, and one organization ideas for the home.

Now, here is where I use chatbt, and I can't stress how helpful this is in, you know, certain steps like this. I go ahead and go tell it what I'm doing. I'm creating a brand new board. This is the set of keywords that I'm trying to target. Can you help me with a SEO

optimized description for this board? Just give it your keywords and it should give you a really good description that's already targeting those keywords that you can just copy and paste into the description of your board. Now, once you have these three different boards set up, you're ready to pin and schedule these pins out. So, I don't go pin all

six pins at once. You definitely don't want to do that. You don't want to pin a whole bunch of pins on the same day to the same link. So, I spread these out a week apart. I go in, I actually use just the free scheduling tool within Pinterest and I go schedule these out

one week apart. For example, today I would publish a pin and post it to small entryway ideas. Then I would set one to go out a week from now to organization ideas for the home. Then my other one I would set for two weeks from now to go to small space organization. The other

one would be three weeks from now back to the small entryway ideas board. Four weeks from now would be organization ideas for the home. Five weeks from now, small space organization. I think you get the point. You kind of rotate the boards and set them out your pins for a week apart. Setting them up to go out a

week apart gives Pinterest time to test that pin and it also avoids you competing with yourself. It's slow intentional growth, but so far it's working. This is the first time in a while that I've seen my numbers finally going back up. Don't expect to go viral overnight. Don't expect your numbers to like go all crazy high in just a few

days. This is really kind of a slow process and Pinterest is really about the long game. Pinterest loves consistency and this is the first time I've been really consistent with any kind of Pinterest strategy. Um it was a lot more random before and the consistency is working. I'm going to stick with the strategy for a while.

Honestly, it's been very very doable. I work on this once a week. I you know finish a post about once a week. So, as soon as I finish one, this is what I do. I set aside some time to do this Pinterest work and then, you know, that post is taken care of for at least 5 to

6 weeks. I don't do any more pinning on that post um during that time. So, it really is pretty manageable. I highly recommend giving this a shot if you've been stuck or frustrated and just not sure where to go on your own Pinterest um strategy.
