Why Looking Poor Is So Important | Frugal Living

So, one Sunday, I was at church, and one of the church members invited myself and my husband over for a dinner, right? Just to get to know us and to connect more. And we initially thought that these people were, you know, average, regular, poor people. Unfortunately, we did judge by the car that they drove and stuff like that, you

know, things that we can see. And was that fair to them? Absolutely not. However, when we did get to the house, I started to wonder, "Is this the right address? Like, did I get the right address, or was this some mistake?" And just so you know, it was not the wrong address. It was actually

the correct address. The car was parked in the garage, so obviously, I wouldn't be able to tell. But when I got there, the house was probably four times the size of my house. It was huge, okay? Like, I'm talking about a triple car garage. I'm talking about a two-story home. Like, they had a little koi pond,

and if you know about koi, you know those are expensive, like, to set up the koi pond. And I was impressed. Now, when I walked inside of the home, of course, I'm not going to lie, it was a little bit a little bit more basic looks, more like older furniture. And that's okay,

that's their choice, because I got to find out that their goal was to pay off their home before they got to the the age of 45, which they absolutely did. And they looked poor for one reason, and that one reason is simply to meet other financial goals that are priorities. And this is why, my friend, you don't judge,

cuz that couple, that married couple right now, they got a house paid off while I'm trying to still pay mine off. So, that couple, they did serve as like an inspiration for myself. I do admire them. I do admire the progress, the way they live their life. Honestly, they didn't care what people thought about
