Hello everyone, I hope you're all doing well. Today we're going to talk about molecular biology. We're going to look at the structure of nucleic acids. So, let's take a look at a small diagram so we can learn quite a few things. As a reminder, nucleic acids are the basis of DNA. Okay, DNA stands
for deoxyribonucleic acid. So, it's really the basic structure; these macromolecules allow us to have all the genetic information specific to the individual. You're all familiar with this kind of diagram that you might have seen in high school with the famous double helix. We'll look at that in a little more detail in a moment, but the idea here is to
see how it actually structures this molecule. The DNA molecule, you should know, actually contains several types of bases: nitrogenous bases, and, to be clear, there are four of them. So, we'll have... Cytosine, thymine, belline, guanine—that's for DNA, and for ARM, we'll therefore have roots, cytosine, delindurins, caudines—these roots are the ones that will be exchanged
with thymine. So we'll dwell on these different bases and nitrogenous bases in what we call nucleotides. I won't go into detail here; the idea is to make you understand that you'll have to learn essential things about the structure of nucleic acids. Should you learn the molecules in detail right away? I don't necessarily advise that right away.
