To germinate pitahaya or dragon fruit seeds, we basically need the fruit itself. We can use any of the varieties because some are a little redder, some a little pinker, and some are even yellow. And of course, you'll need these little black dots, which are the seeds. We're going to try to remove as much of the pulp as possible. I'm
going to let them dry a bit in the sun so that after they've dried for at least a day, I'll push them out, like with a strawberry, to remove as much pulp as possible. Unfortunately, not all of it comes out. So, to continue, we can give them a light wash with a little soap and water, and then
put them in a pot with enough soil—at least a three- or four-inch pot, so that it's also about three inches deep, since we're going to keep the plants in this pot for a while. Use a good amount of nutrient-rich soil, and in two to three weeks, we'll see the pitahaya plants sprouting.
