good evening this is dr najib i hope you are doing well right and i hope you have you must have watched some of the lectures which i have given already so today we are going to talk about a very special topic right we are going to talk about how the blood glucose level is regulated in a very narrow range

in a previous lecture in a previous lecture we discussed that normally in a healthy person where blood glucose regulating mechanisms are working well in a healthy person blood glucose level should not go not below 50 to 60 milligram per year or 100 ml and after on fasting level it shouldn't be fasting blood glucose should not be

more than 100 milligram per dl listen carefully body regulates blood glucose level in a very very narrow range which is non-toxic range glucose level below that is also toxic and above that is also toxic in both conditions if blood glucose level is less than normal it damages our body if it is more than normal it damages our body

right so our minimum blood glucose should be maintained around 50 to 60 milligram and fasting blood glucose level fasting blood glucose level should not be more than 100 milligram and two hours after the meal two hours after the meal we call it two hours post prandially

two hours postprandially blood glucose should not be more than 140 milligrams per year right and randomly our blood glucose should not go above 200 milligram per dia now why why i put it black here and black here because if blood glucose level goes above these values right that will produce damage in our body as we discussed in our previous lectures that high blood

glucose chronically that is hyperglycemia that eventually leads to many complications including macro vascular diseases microvascular diseases and infections and many other complications in the same way in the previous lecture i mentioned if blood glucose level falls to below that produces symptoms of hypoglycemia even it can lead to the sympathetic overflow and then related
