What's up, guys? My name is Tony and today I'm going to give you a quick and painless guide on installing Void Linux. Void Linux is a systemd free Linux distribution that strikes a fine balance of minimalism, bleeding edge, and stability. It is a rolling release dro, but the maintainers focus on testing for
build integrity and base functionality, which leads to more stable updates. It uses runit instead of systemd by default, which is a faster init system than systemd. And if you're a Linux power user, it actually feels better to set up init services using runit compared to systemctl. At the end of this guide, you will no longer be using
systemd and you'll be ready to install void linux on your own hardware. All right, let's head over to void linux.org and click the download button. And we're going to grab this base minimal live image for gibbc today. Another good thing about void linux is that it gives you the option to use mucus instead of
gibbc, but we're going to stick with gibbc today. We can cover Muil in a different video. Void Linux has a very detailed installation guide and there's a tool called Void Installer, which is a TUI installation wizard, but we're going to skip that and we're just going to go straight into the Trute installation,
which is going to be similar to installing Arch Linux or Gen 2 or what have you. So, we'll head over to the installation guide and we will click installation via Trute. And we'll be using this as a source of truth here today. And we'll go ahead and start this installation by loading up this grub
menu and hitting enter. And to log in here, we'll type root for the login. And the password is going to be void Linux. And there we go. We are in our live ISO image. This tutorial is going to be assuming that you have an Ethernet connection available, which I do. If you don't have an Ethernet connection, I'll
