1 Samuel chapter 8 This text was a prayer that I prayed to over my boy when he was uh smaller. And uh I read this one day, don't know why, and I just started praying it that he would be a head and shoulders above people, and he's a head and shoulders above me. He's 6-ft

1 or 2, 6-ft 2. And uh so that's kind of weird, but here we go. There was a man of Benjamin whose name was Kish, the son of Abiel, the son of Zeror, the son of somebody I'm not preaching about, keep moving, and somebody I'm not preaching about, a Benjamite, a mighty man of power.

And he had a choice and handsome son whose name was Saul. There was not a more handsome person than he among the children of Israel. From his shoulders upward he was taller than any of the people. And I'll stop there because this man, Saul, of the Old Testament became the first king of Israel that the

people demanded to have. The first king of Israel was not God's choice. Although God received him and anointed him, God did not choose the system and the leader. He had priests, and he had judges, and that's how it was before this moment. But the people began to say, "We want to be like other nations, and we want

our leader like they have to lead us into battle and in as a nation, we want a a leader. Which is just a pre-sermon to my sermon. God doesn't choose the leaders that we have. I know he raises one up and pulls one down. I understand he's sovereign. I understand he's He knows everything and

he and he is in charge of everything. He allows. But we choose our leaders just like Israel. If if you understand You say, "Well, God" People say, "Well, God put that person there." No, the people put that person there and then God can anoint what he does if it's in line with his word.
