These are great goals, but here's something the research keeps revealing. The financial milestones that make you feel the wealthiest, like looking at your net worth statement or
improving your returns, are not actually the ones that move the needle on your day-to-day happiness. And for people in their 30s and 40s, this gap is particularly costly because you're making big financial decisions right now that will set the trajectory for everything that follows. I want to ask which financial variables actually move the happiness needle most during your working years. And the data gives us some pretty surprising answers. can to enjoy it. The number one driver, margin. If I had to pick one financial variable that does the most for happiness during your working years, it's margin. The difference between what you make and what you spend. So, not strictly focusing on income, not strictly focusing on net worth. Income minus spending is your financial
breathing room. And having more financial breathing room gives you more options, and more options gives you more freedom. Here's what the data says. A recent survey found that 72% of Americans said they'd be happier if they were saving or investing more. Only 21% said spending more would make them happier. And here's the kicker. Even
