eBay news, and it's not great. It's Monday morning, September 21st morning, and over the weekend eBay quietly, very quietly, announced another USPS shipping rate increase. We didn't get any heads-up. eBay announced the change on the day it took effect. So, as of September 19th, certain USPS Ground Advantage and Priority Mail rates purchased through eBay shipping labels
have increased. For Ground Advantage packages under 2 lb, the increase is only 10 cents, but for packages from 3 to 5 lb, the increase can be anywhere from $0.27 to $2.28 depending on the shipping zone. And Priority Mail can be an even bigger jump for packages going to zone eight, which is like across the
country from you, increases can range from $0.73 all the way to $4.35. Flat-rate packages are going up another 30 cents. Interesting. eBay says these changes do not apply to the rural zip codes. And you don't have to change your listings if you use calculated shipping. eBay says its shipping calculator has automatically updated the rates.
However, if you are offering free shipping or flat-rate shipping, you need to pay attention because these increases are coming directly out of your profits. Follow me because I keep up with this stuff, so you don't have to. Have a great week.
