I Listened to Charlie Kirk in Context. It's WORSE

In the years since Charlie Kirk's death, I've watched a particular narrative develop among conservative Christians. And it goes something like this. Yes, Charlie said controversial things. Okay. But the idea that Charlie Kirk regularly engaged in racist, hateful, and dehumanizing rhetoric, you're taking clips way out of context. That's not what he said. You're misquing him. After

all, the media hated him. The left called him a racist or a Nazi because they disagreed with him. And if you would just sit down and listen to what Charlie actually said, you would realize that he was a Christian who tried to treat people he disagreed with with love and respect. Charlie was preaching the

gospel and was a martyr for the Christian faith. Chances are you've read things like what I just described from Kirk Defenders, most of which tend to be white conservative Christians. But is it true? Well, we're going to find out today. I want to respond to this video from Christian author, apologist, and professor Thaddius Williams that he

Now, I'm doing this not because Thaddius is somehow uniquely responsible for this narrative wholesale, but because I think his video is one of the clearest examples I've seen of the Christian apologetic for Charlie Kirk's legacy. And look, to Thaddius's credit, he

doesn't just say, "Trust me." He attempts to make an evidence-based case. He says that he watched a 100red videos. He gives statistics. He plays clips. He provides context. Or so he says. He argues that some of the most notorious things you've heard about Charlie are either false or misleading or can be understood very differently when you see
