Lec 7 Clash of Empires

Just as we are noting England's success as a power, we also need to acknowledge that each of our imperial powers is seeing success and growth. The more that these powers make, okay, make in terms of money or finances, the more that these powers make, especially in their colonial holdings, the more that each of these powers is

looking for new lands. Looking for new lands to grow that wealth even more. Looking for more resources and markets.It's an attempt to take more land so that eventually they can hold the majority, or optimistically ALL, of the land around the world because the more land that they can take, the more wealth that they will have. And the wealthier they become, the more powerful they are.

This is especially true when reflecting on our North American colonies. Of each of these powers, France, Britain, Spain, they're all looking for more expansion in North America. They're all looking to attain more wealth in North America so we're going to see a great deal of expansion amongst each of these nations in North America. A great deal of expansion that's going to lead to a

clash of Empires. As Britain, Spain, and France go to emerge out looking for those new markets and resources, they're eventually going to run into each other trying to get the same space. So we're going to talk about these clash in empires. Talk about what that means for each of these powers and ultimately some
