Hey, how you doing?, welcome to this new video. I'm Olbaid and this is the Episode number 14 about how to use FL studio 20 from scratch On the last episode I taught you about the Piano Roll, we have also seen the Sampler, audio clips and, in this chapter, we're going to see a tool named "Fruity Slicer".
Here we go! As you know, we can load up a sample sound into the Sampler but there is another way to do this with other kind of sounds. For example, in this folder there are some sounds called Loops...
well, those can be loaded like any other sample into the Sampler but there is a little inconvenience, cause if I load it as a sample, when I click on it (or on play button)
it's going to be repeated over and over even the loop is going to be sounding and summing the volume this is because of the markers and loop points, if I deactivate them it doesn't happen anymore well, the loop doesn't finish yet but you got the idea. There are better ways to do this, and one of them is using Fruity Slicer
you click on the loop with the rigth button, from the menu you choose "open in new Fruity Slicer channel" and is the one shown next. OK, Fruity Slicer is a tool used for "chop the samples off" and, in this case, I'm using a loop because the way Slicer does it is pretty efficient
but you can use the sample that you want for example, I open this vocal sample in Slicer and then it can be sliced in small parts and modified in the Piano Roll as well. But, first of all, let me explain each control what is intended for. Here we have the option to open a file which is already prepared to be read by Slicer (existing loop points), like these on the left
