yeah we have a good place for see the turtle yeah yeah s s m i often get asked the question it was raised Again by someone yesterday how do I find the places where I stay it's a pretty simple thing if I in the past if I knew I was going to stay somewhere for

an extended period of time and I didn't know of anywhere I book a a room online for 3 or 4 days and then i' just walk I just walk in the area like I've done a bit of research of where I'd like to stay or where I think might might suit me um invariably it's you know 5 or 10

minute walk out of the main centers if I'm in a tourist area and I'll just knock on doors because what people fail to realize there's still Lans or accommodation places family run guest houses that aren't online they um what they're getting less and less admittedly but there's still these sort of tucked away little places that are you know

cheaper because they're not paying the 20% um booking platform commissions so back in the day before we had the internet it was the Lonely Planet or because the Lonely Planet became so popular these places that were promoted or advertised or recommended in the in the publication became so popular you ended up being surrounded by lots of

tourists and travelers which for some of us isn't what we're sort of looking for so back in the day when I found the places that I enjoyed it would come through Word of Mouth you know you'd meet a traveler and you'd say hey where they might be coming the other way and you say hey where did you stay is there

anywhere you can recommend and you know sometimes you'd find a little gem I lived for a long time in a Bud um just out of a bud in a place that was recommended to me by a person I met traveling so my advice is if you're looking at staying somewhere for a semi

long period you know a month or more or whatever get yourself a room for a few nights off one of the booking platforms and just walk because apart from there being places that aren't actually on these platforms you're removing you're removing the 20% I'm a bit nervous about dogs after Lum um you're you're removing the 20%

commission that um these platforms put on top of the nightly fee so yeah yeah it's good good to see you good Jal Jalan Jal so yeah that's you know it's it's pretty simple and basic there's no um there's no secret formula or there's no hidden knowledge or anything like that the best places I've found are places

where I've just walk the streets knocking on the door and negotiate at a price that's pretty much it at the end of the beach here in Padang Bai there's a little Temple that um a little Temple that I assume uh the fishermen use or the families that live on the beach used just to give them a

feeling of safe passage or they're protected or perhaps I don't know but it's um it's a great little Bay I don't um I don't foresee that I'll never come back to patang B it's just for me it's just got the right combination of laziness and a little bit of hustle and bustle it's it's just so

convenient if you want to go to the ghillies or you want to go to lombok um it's just a couple of hours across the water and you're there it's a good place to base yourself I'm surprised there aren't more people that um there aren't more people that don't base themselves here there is there is an xack Community

uh a small one there's one uh bar restaurant uh that generally sees some on a weekend they'll come out and um get their groove on and have a few drinks that could make for an interesting video Hi how are you good how are you good good everything okay yes busy busy good business now yeah yeah snoring or
