You're doing better than most people approaching retirement if you even one of these things applies to you. Now, social media makes it feel like everyone has retirement figured out, but most of them don't. So, number one, you know exactly what your money needs to do for you in retirement. Not just a big number
in an account, but an actual plan. Number two, you know what you do if the markets were to drop 30% next month. If you have an answer for that before the panic starts, you're ahead of most people. Number three, you have money set aside that isn't directly dependent on the markets because if a downturn forces
you to sell investments to pay the bills, a temporary loss can become permanent. And before we get to number four, let me know in the comments how many of these apply to you. Number four, you and your spouse are on the same page about retirement including what you would do if the market dropped after you
retire. And number five, you know exactly what would make you sell an investment. If you're only holding because you're hoping it comes back, that's not a strategy.
