good morning it's good to see you like every other video I'm not entirely sure what I'm going to do today I would like to take a bit of a deep dive into some of the lanes and alleys around Cuda and lean I'd like to have a look at the beach I haven't been in these areas for

quite a while so it's all a bit new and changing for me uh hopefully we'll find a few people to have a chat with along the way we we might get something to eat as well who knows thanks for coming along let's go and have a look and see what we bum beeno

no distinct character between beaches and and places anymore they're just um a sea of a sea of sun beds and deck chairs and uh umbrellas I don't know what I was expecting actually I uh I wasn't expecting this to the degree that uh it's happened you know although this is nice I like these little shell curtains

and the cold beer bar at least that has a little bit of character and a little bit of Personality Erica they've made a little bit of an effort at Erica but again it seems that um you see it often uh in I guess you see it often everywhere but particularly I notice it in Asia that

someone will come up with an idea that works quite well and then everyone will adopt that very same idea you know and uh everything becomes exactly the same as everything else just walking along thinking about who I might be able to speak to and who I might be able to pin down for a bit of a chat and I meet one

of my fellow kinds Uncle Chan Chan B I don't know whether you've seen Uncle Chan's um video channel if not go over and have a look really good guy get you a ground level sort of look at what's happening around C you've actually got your own Beach Bar yes I do have I

didn't know that yeah I do I've been doing this almost uh over 2 years now all right but I've been in Valley for 15 years with my uh surfing business ah is over 2 years I didn't know that I just thought you were a YouTuber well there you go and uh can I ask where you're

from then you're not from B no I I came from North Sumatra North Sumatra nor Sumatra yes uh batak batak yeah yeah yeah s s is on the other side ah yeah yeah Tuk Tuk so how often do you go out and do your YouTube How often that's a good question oh sometimes two

times uh two or three times a week two three make uh a couple of videos and then I right you split them up you do one and put on the Le yeah yeah okay okay do do you find yourself meeting many people when you're walking around they pull you over and say hey you're yes yes it is

and also they're coming to my bar that's how I find um I find uh people on my bar cuz now it's a b so you know you see the bars like 5 m and then different bars competition really and I have that unique to uh uh to encourage people to come to uh to the bar B basically and

let know about Vol yeah sure it's great at the end of the day the prices don't look too bad 35,000 for a beer why don't you come down and see Uncle Chan and support another YouTuber you know these it's a tough job we don't make a lot of money on YouTube We Do It For The Love

singing I have to admit I've been feeling a little bit conflicted these last few days C and the lean area holds a a big piece of my heart for a long time and things have changed now and I've gotten older and I don't have the same connection with it or to it that I

once did I feel we're growing apart a little bit so where I planed to spend a couple of weeks and uh get pretty engaged in the in the area I'm not sure I'll be hanging around for for too long now I'm I I think I I much uh much prefer the rural areas the simpler life

uh maybe it's a sign of age maybe it's just a a preferred interest now to take a bit of a deeper dive and get a bit of a look at um I don't know how traditional people might live or at least people who live a simpler life I was just walking down Jalan Padma when

from the foot path I noticed this really beautiful gorgeous mural or painting I'm not sure whether it's oil I don't think it's oil I'm not sure it might even be crayon I'm not sure per Missi k t uh any CH this is Thailand it's Thailand yeah this is Japan Japan yeah Val Banes

uh this is India India Philippine maybe Philippines maybe Philippines so sat lagi sat lagi Thailand Thailand Japan Japan Val B Thailand India uhuh wow I didn't realize this it's really nice who painted it do you know who painted it what that UHA oh I don't know that's nice a representation of ladies from different different local

countries yeah oh okay strong I like you go to the gym all the time I can see yeah maybe one week or two time in G really and how long in the gym maybe 2 hours 1 hour uhhuh so Le lean day Le not leg day Le day no sorry thank you nobody gets my nobody gets my

humor it's actually good to see the sun again and it's been a bit of a a long hot walk around the gangs and Lanes of Cuda and lean today I've just stopped for a coffee and and uh just to relax and I bumped into sorry what was your name Andrew Andrew thanks so much Andrew

you're living here in b yeah more or less pretty much more or less yeah so can I ask why you chose barley what what was it that I'll sit over here actually because the lights a bit better get rid this can I ask can I ask what what is about barley that draw

you to it rather than say Thailand or Philippines or well I I left the UK almost a year ago and um I went to Australia I just wanted to get as far away from the UK as I could Australia was the place so I went there 5 months Australia bought a car needed some work

doing so I put in the garage rather pay Australian prices for accommodation I came to Valley oh right and the second I stepped off the plane fell in love with the place and just never went back it has that effect on people it really does yeah this oh sorry the lady's just bringing my coffee Massi bu

yeah and and so to make that um transition to a permanent lifestyle here is is that difficult for you do you think or no well so back in the UK um I gave my house up for 18 months so I didn't have a house I lived in a camper van and just T the

UK uh so that was the transition was already done so very nomadic lifestyle anyway right um and that was with a view to just driving around the world yeah uh and but I got got a bit of a root in the UK the camper band so that's why I needed to do something different and

hence Australian yeah just got a one way ticket and up our wind yeah so it was uh pretty easy and you're right you say about the people of b um it's the people that Sol it was and it's about it's not just the uh the politeness there's something in the soul there's something

spiritual about you know I think there is um so happy so so genuine and that's what I was looking for you know and it was just uh so you got the people but then you got the I don't know this the the atmosphere the the a here or whatever yeah absolutely um that's what

I find about the place so you it's um you've got the you've got the live music you've got the bars but then you can just hop at a bike and you going take yourself away up in the you're not far away not far away from the the jungles and the and the waterfalls and just

getting away from it all get get the passport over to L and have a relax over there and the you sound like you've got it covered you've been here for 3 months you know all the tricks already yeah but I think it's like that places that you fall in love with and places that you're

attracted to or gravitate to you you kind to understand it quickly you know I think that's one of the things that I liked about it you know I'm still here I've been here coming for a fair while now and the one thing I like is I understood it very very quickly I got it

very very quickly it wasn't a struggle to assimilate or or to fit in or I enjoyed what they were doing anyway I I I absorbed it I took it in uh I took it on and understood it and I think that's one thing that sort of helps you know um but uh So the plan is to be here for

another indefinitely just just stay just see how it goes you know there's uh there's an awful lot of Indonesia to explore absolutely I'd like to think I've got a bit of time left before yeah yeah yeah I'm sure you have pop this pop this world but so we just say what happens you know you mentioned the likes

of Thailand you know Philippines well the whole of Asia yeah yeah you know and it's it's again this one thing Western World we're constantly told Asia awful our enemy and all this rubbish it's absolute nonsense we but some people believe it though un too many people believe it you know but when you come

and you immerse yourself in in an Asian culture Indonesian culture it is wonderful it is it's magical it is it's uh and I would recommend everybody does it you know stop bling all the crap have a look for yourself it's the only way to do it of course Andrew brilliant thanks so much really appreciate it yeah

problem cheers man hello I think I think this is um I think this is emblematic of what's Happening Here in uh Cuda anyway um you've got sort of local traditional life there's some chickens and there's ladies walking down the alleys and then you've got that enormous conrete building which I'm assuming is a hotel one side of it and

it's just sort of pushing pushing onto people's lives it's just sort of a blight on you know what's otherwise a a very pretty little local Lane I think I've mentioned it a few times now since I've been back in Cuda this time um it's been really really one of the joys of having a YouTube channel as

you get to meet so many people and another guy Craig who's an avid avid watcher and a subscriber is you're good mate how are you good to see you uh there's a lot of that goes on Craig you're um you're a regular over here I'll take it then yeah my yeah been over

last seven years yeah oh right on and off yeah where in auss are you from Brisbane m what are the prices for flights right now from there uh they range from you know like about $600 for two to up to around th000 yeah right I guess Depending on time of year and if you got

a bit of flexibility if there's a special that comes up you can just take off or yeah yeah yeah where uh what What's your local horns Craig where are your favorite places to go you uh where do you stay uh we stay in 0 we love CA and Le yeah yeah and got

any any particular favorite restaurants or warong or watering holes that you like to drop into H we just go wherever you know I like the style man I like the sty just winging it wherever you land you're you're there you know that's it I love the attitude mate I think a lot more people should adopt that you know

but um so how long you got left to go man uh I got 10 days 10 days that's a good hul in it yeah right I'm going to keep pushing on thanks very much for stopping and introducing yourself C I really appreciate it to meet you yeah you too if I'm to be perfectly honest I'm

actually experiencing a a bit of loss a sense of loss a bit of grief because uh cudar and the main tourist area in barley now lean doesn't really have the same impact or effect on me I find it all quite shallow and whole Hollow or I don't know I'm not entirely sure I haven't given it a great deal of

thought but um yeah it's it's rather odd to walk around here once with a spring in your step and excited about engaging with the place to now sort of looking at in a in a in the light of um yeah I've kind of done this I'm over this you know um hey so it's a

bit sad really not that we won't ever come back again of course that's just about it for this one bit Ram shackling all over the place apologies for that I think there's probably only going to be one more video from uh Cuda leian area seak maybe and then I'm going to head off out I've going to meet a friend in

Ubud uh in a couple of days and then we'll strike out from there and perhaps go north as always I hope you're well and happy in life and uh doing the things you want to do all right see you soon bye
