good morning it's good to see you we've got a bit of a travel day today we're going from CA to AB bud I've booked the bus for 10 a.m. which is a bit later than I normally go uh there probably going to be a little bit of traffic to contend with so I'm I'm thinking about 2

hours maybe a little bit more just Wok up so the first order of the day is find a good coffee somewhere I broke one of my golden rules last night I usually never eat at somewhere I haven't eaten before uh the day before travel or the morning of travel and I went to a little

warong that I hadn't eaten it before and uh woke up this morning just a little bit little bit gingerly on on the on the toilet it's not it's not a a bad case or a severe case but just got a little bit of a cramping and the uh the movements aren't that firm so we're always

carrying the uh the medication and the gut paralyzer should we need it so uh hopefully we'll be all right I've had so much good luck finding people to talk to at this little uh little cafe that I feel I should repay them and and get a coffee apparently the coffee is pretty good so we'll find

outu do yeah yeah uh yeah then

have a good day you hear stories these ladies are part of a street crew Mafia or the uh the children are sometimes drugged and you know I'm sure that happens from time to time but it doesn't take away the the fact that you know they're not wealthy people obviously regardless of which situation is correct you know um they

could be legitimately out there just trying to make a make a living and trying to feed their family so I I personally don't have any issues with um you know paying a little bit more for a wristlet or not considering perhaps they might be part of some working group that works the streets for me I really I'm

not going to give too much thought about whether wean back there and her child a part of some organized group or um whether she's legitimately by herself regardless the child needs to eat you know someone asked me the other day what's one of my little pleasures in life and they were surprised to tell

when I told them I like listening to cyber punk music and I also enjoy playing chess and these guys I came across on the beach and they're deep into a game you're a grandm sir no I'm I'm actually really terrible I didn't play for a really long time uhhuh but you have played a bit yeah yes but yeah

not not much how's your opponent is he a good player yeah he uh destroyed me on the first game so he knows something uhhuh probably more than me how long have you been in Bali now um about 3 days 3 days yeah um me and my brother are here and my family is coming also oh

nice uh my father is basically living here and we're like yeah trying to have a nice time I tried to go fishing but the waves are too big too much trash it must be great having a family M I got to go cuz the Saw's about to come on thank you so much for letting me stop and say

hello yeah cue the saw thanks guys nothing like a hot coffee first thing in the morning in barley to get the body's cooling system going sweating already I was sitting here and something caught my eye masi B have a good day have a good day just sitting there having a coffee something caught my eye in the the hotel

across the road and I just wanted to have a quick look it looked like some kind of sculpture or tattoo going to get run over just through there I could see a peak of gold and a hand I just wanted to have a look what it was it's like it's another little Oasis you know they've

got The Madness of CA going on out there and then you've got something like this and of course I've forgotten what these religious or mythical figures Hindu figures are called but morning sir up uh K I don't know what the name the dancing the Dancing Yeah dancing Balan Dancing Yeah uhhuh I'm sure

someone will remind me who they are all right let's push on Maki buy buy just came across a man that looks like he's falling off a motorb I've in here what happened oh water hot hot water oh you work in the laundry in in the war yeah and you have the hot water from the

stove wow M when you're cooking yeah yeah oo look like a bad water burn didn't it I guess um yeah that's one of the hello hello how are you that's one of the the hazards of working in the kitchens I'm sure I'm sure many kitchen workers have their stories to tell about cuts and and

getting um getting steamed or burnt by boiled water I think this is probably a gauge really if you want to you want to gauge if you want to gauge how local the area is and how um how much of the areas um occupied by you know Bal Andel residences how many people you see engaged in um

ceremonies and uh ceremony preparations that's a bit of a rare site in my experience recently in uh the gangs and Lanes of Cuda you don't see too many and here we are Jalan lean just uh just up from poppy one is where the bus stop is I'm ear I'm early of course as always so we might grab a seat and

wait around if there's anyone here there's a little seat out the

back how are you I'm good good good the bus on time this I'm always curious to see how many are joining us on the bus you know the the bus's size has varied depending on how many people they've got on the the newer minivans are quite um quite new and they're really comfortable the air

condition is really really cold if there's a lot of us they'll put us on one of the older buses which um are uh a great experience I think but um some people might prefer a more modern uh ride but um either way it it doesn't really worry me that is in three so yeah yeah

okay M excellent we got one of the new little minivans and this this is our um this is our Chariot let's um see if we can sit in yeah get in and get the best seat it doesn't seem um or I can't see masi the other two Travelers that are coming today I haven't spotted

um and it's not uncommon I guess for uh some of the younger people to have a big night out the uh the night before and miss their uh miss their ride to a Bo or wherever so uh who knows we might be might be traveling

alone byee bye okay bye welome bye all right so we're picking up two more inua just arrived at our stop uh in senua um the traffic's been really really good actually I think it only took about 30 minutes my stomach's not perfect I had to use the toilet back at P back at where I got on but um just a

bit of cramping I'm I'm not going to take a gut paralyzer I think it's okay um but it's at the ready in case I need it I'm going to get out of the back seat cuz it's a small thing and there's probably two people to get in the back seat so I'll take the front and um yeah

it's um going to be a pretty good ride up to a buot I think it's always a little bit tricky sometimes when um I approach people to to have a talk with me especially when they're in a an enclosed environment with no Escape but unfortunate that the lovely people that have just got in who

sound like they're English is that right English it's your first trip to Bary yes how long have you been here uh just a few days yeah just been in Sun um and now heading to H we've got about two weeks here to oh lovely is it part of a longer trip or is

is it just sort of a holiday yeah so we're doing three months of travel um so started in Bangkok and Thailand um about a month ago uhhuh yeah and then we've done Thailand Malaysia and now Indonesia that sounds like a great trip yeah how do how do you work that as far as work

back home have you left your jobs or have you sort of Taken lead without pay yeah we've left our jobs really yeah I was wanting to leave anyway and have always wanted to have an extended period of time and demanded he' come along with it pretty much and based on your initial experience now do you think that you're

going to incorporate travel as a regular thing in your in your routine sort of working for a while and traveling while or do you have bigger plans a foot that you might sort of take a couple of years next or how does travel fit into your life at the moment you think going

forward good question um this is your first ever like big bit of travel yeah dipping my toes into traveling how are you finding it yeah loving it and um I think on the Bangkok thing is really interesting cuz I really wanted to travel uh based on like nature and seeing cool scenes like beaches and

waves and all that kind of stuff but um yeah bot's been like our favorite place so far which just shocked me so much but it was just super authentic everyone was so friendly yeah and you could you felt like you could leave your phone like on on a table in a cafe walk off half an

hour and come back and it would be there so guys thank you so much what was your names I'm Sophie Sophie and Charles Charles Sophie and Charles thanks so much for taking the time I know it's really intrusive and you had no Escape it's been very generous and very kind of you to let me pep you with questions

thank you it's been fun thank you thank you so much fun it makes makes traveling so much better when you've got great company and these guys were were really good company today um it made the time which was probably about an hour and a half from CA made that just fly by I've

got a 2 km walk now to where I stay back to my usual place um might stop on and get something to eat hopefully we'll get some more people to talk with um yeah let's go the good news is the tummy is settled down I haven't eaten anything all day it's now probably getting close

to 12:30 there's no uh no cramps no uh suggestions of any movement I didn't have to use my gut paralyzer so uh that's been good but it's uh it just reminds me that that golden travel rule that I always have never eat in a new Wong or new place the day before or the

morning of travel um it gets reinforced again there's a bit of a slip up it could have been much much more painful much more embarrassing at least but um yeah it's going to be back in a bu for those who may be new to the channel I spend a little bit of time in a bu and

have done for quite a while I um I stay in one particular area in one particular guest house and uh oh I in m in just checking to see if there was someone I knew this there's a guy that has helped me out a lot uh whenever I need to know something but um yeah

so I uh I I generally stay in the same place uh with the same B and his family and uh utilize the the businesses and the people that um are in that Village for my food and coffee and that type of thing so we're probably going to stop and get something to eat now from one of

these people boeru that's if they're open there's not a ceremony or something that's taken them away and closed the store but uh yeah getting a bit hungry so this is where I eat most days um I'm a bit late today there's not much left but we'll see we'll see if we can scrape up some food

from somewhere hello

yeah B yeah uh how you to how you to I normally get my m m I normally get my coffee and my sugar and my sort of daily needs from a a little store over there but as is often the case on on many days um you'll find these little local Village Shops and Wong they just

Clos they've got a a ceremony a wedding a funeral a cremation a birth or something so um yeah you can always be sure that they're open there's another little little shop up the road I can hopefully get my bits and pieces from Massi yeah har B
