The king was frightened when he awoke. He wanted to know the meaning of the dream. Daniel, the prophet who was a prisoner in Babylon at the time,

interpreted his dream for the king. According to this, the golden crown represented Nebuchadnezzar and his dynasty, while a lower-ranking empire would rule after him. Then a third kingdom of Bronze would rule over the whole earth . The fourth world empire would be as strong as iron. The feet and toes, partly made of iron and partly of clay, represented a divided kingdom
