Apple C2 Modem (iPhone 18 Pro) vs Qualcomm X80 (iPhone 18 Pro Max in US)

All right, we got a good video here for you guys today. Uh this is from Greg's Gadgets. This is Gregory McFadden on X. Credit to Gregory here. This is not my material, so I'm I'm not staking claim to it, but I do want to share with you guys what I think is kind of important.

And it looks to me like he's got access to two different devices. He has the iPhone 18 Pro and he has the iPhone 18 Pro Max. And the important difference here between these two devices, and I'm not even talking about size of the device, display size, any thing like that. Just looking at the cellular and RF

systems. The iPhone 18 Pro uses Apple's in-house C2 modem. The cellular RF system. That is the same solution that every iPhone from the 18 generation will have internationally. The only exception to the rule in the United States, the 18 Pro Max will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon X80 modem, which was released a couple of years ago and

was in like the Samsung Galaxy S25 generation devices. So it's very dated. It's the same modem that was in the iPhone 17 generation. But anyways, here's the C2 modem performance. Uh Gregory was able to take a speed test here. You know, here's your pings, here's your jitter. I see 320 down and I see 97 megabits up.

That's really good performance. I dig it. I'm with it. I'm assuming um this is probably a cell site that has some pretty decent usage on it. Those downlink speeds based on these uplink speeds tells me that there's a lot of download usage. This is probably a cell site that is doing over a gigabit

per second. Maybe maybe closer to 2 gig because look at this uplink. That is phenomenal. Shout out to the C2 modem for doing some pretty nice things performance-wise on uplink. Here's the iPhone 18 Pro Max. And this one has the Qualcomm Snapdragon X80 modem, the same modem that was in last year's iPhones.
