Throw back to when this high schooler was thrilled to get [music] a brand new laptop from his school, only to realize months later that they were secretly watching him. Blake Robbins was just a 15-year-old at Harriton High School in Pennsylvania when everyone got assigned free MacBooks to help with school work. Although it was a dream come true at

first, Blake began to notice this strange flickering light next to his webcam even when he wasn't using it. Since he could never find anything on his computer, he eventually just started ignoring it. That is until a couple months later when he got called into the principal's office and was handed a photo of himself in his bedroom. As it

turns out, the school's officials had actually secretly installed software that allowed them to take hidden photos through each student's webcams. [music] They later claimed this was to help locate stolen laptops in students' homes. But since Blake was a known troublemaker, they'd apparently been specifically monitoring him, taking more than 400 photos of him sleeping,

partially undressed, and of his family. >> [music] >> And it was only when school officials saw him eating Mike and Ike's one day that they finally revealed their photos to try accusing him of taking drugs. This later helped expose them for taking [music] almost 70,000 images of other students as well. And Blake later

settled with them in court for 600 grand.
