Over the years, I've earned the reputation as the guy that will help you pass your personal trainer exam. At first, I resisted this title a bit. I wanted to be known for some of my other stuff, but in more recent times, I've embraced it, and now I'm more proud of these videos and guides than ever. I've
made it my mission to help you demolish these silly tests and become the best trainer you can be. One thing I haven't touched on much though, are effective study habits, and today that changes. Funny enough, like many of you watching now, I'm sure, I was never really taught how to study. I was probably two-ish
years into college before I really learned some effective strategies. So, let's get into the five that I think make the biggest difference, or really the ones that will ensure that you pass these personal training tests on the first try. So, my first strategy is to have a timeline and deadline. Most personal trainer courses give you
six-ish months to get through the content and then take the big exam. This actually works out because I think this is the right timeline for most people. If you have recent experience with anatomy, physiology, exercise science, you can probably pass any of these exams in a few months. Now, I want you to be
honest with yourself. How long ago did you take that anatomy class? Did you get a good grade? How hard did you actually try there? If you have recent and good experience in these things, then yeah, all you'll have to learn are some specifics from your course, NASM's OPT model, ACE's IFT, NSCA's queuing for
some exercises, ACSM's risk factors, but really the hardest concepts in any of these courses will just be review for you. If you have little to no experience in these things, which I'd guess most of you watching fall into this category, then you're looking at three to six months to study and to learn everything.
