BOOST YOUR CONFIDENCE | PASTOR DAVID COOPER

This morning I want to bring a message to encourage you called boost your confidence. And I noticed today that we prayed for God to supernaturally raise our level of confidence. I want to take you to the book of Hebrews for a few minutes. Hebrews chapter 10 verse 35 and 36. If you want to open your Bibles

with me, but I'll be sharing [music] this passage and what God is saying to us. The word of the Lord says, "So do not throw away your confidence. It will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that after you've done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. So before you're seated,

put a smile on your face and tell somebody how good they look today and just say, [music] "Keep your confidence." Would you do that? Keep your confidence. And you may be seated.

In the classic story of Peter Pan, Peter tells the children, "If you ever doubt that you can fly, from that moment on, you will forever be unable to fly. Confidence is fundamental to success in life. We need God confidence and we need self confidence. We need to believe that God exists, that he loves us, that he cares for us. We

need to believe that Jesus is Lord. We need to believe that the Holy Spirit is our helper. We need to believe the word of God is true. We need God confidence. But we also need to believe that we are made in God's image. We have been redeemed by grace. The Holy Spirit of

God lives within us. And the writer of Hebrews writes to Christians who were struggling and suffering. They were under tremendous persecution. And he writes about the need for believers to live with confidence. And here Hebrews chapter 10 verse 35 and 36. What a word from God to us today. What a word from Christ to his church.
