This

is Denise Malcolm and she had just executed her husband in front of her twin sons.

Only minutes earlier one of the twins had called police to their home as his mother and father argued inside but as officers arrived they heard one last shot echo from inside the house a shot that would change everything.

As police began questioning Denise and the twins it quickly became clear that the truth was not going to come out easily. Their stories were incomplete certain details were being avoided and someone inside that house knew far more than they were willing to say. >> Did you accomplish what you wanted to accomplish correct? But there's one part

you didn't accomplish Denise and that's you sitting here talking to me.

>> On August 31st 2024 in Coral Springs Florida at approximately 6:32 p.m. The Coral Springs Police Department received a frantic 911 call from a 14-year-old boy claiming he had just witnessed something horrifying happen to his dad. But before officers could fully understand what had happened inside the home the boy shared the address and the

call [music] ended unaware of what was truly happening at the scene officers had to approach carefully yet they were not prepared for the hectic scene that was waiting for them.

>> What is that?

>> There was one thing officers were certain of so far. The house was not safe to enter. Based on the child's 911 call, they knew someone inside had a gun, meaning they couldn't act recklessly by rushing into the property and risking one of the officers getting hurt. So, instead, officers slowly began arriving at the

property, taking up positions and securing each side of the perimeter. But, they didn't yet know that one miscommunication would end up putting the entire operation at risk.

>> Guys, back up. Back up. Back up behind that car, please. Go.

Get back up.

>> One thing officers did get right was immediately calling for additional units to support the first response, but the situation was unfolding so quickly that they assumed the truth of what was happening inside the house would become obvious once more officers arrived. Instead, the opposite happened. The more the scene developed, the more confused

the picture became. >> Who was that? >> He was the one running in the bathroom.

>> Wait, I don't know what he's saying. >> I don't know. >> I'm going to hold that. Look at it. I just hold it. Come back this way. I I got you.

>> I should be the first one square to head. Open the door. Open the door. Let me see your hands. Come out. Come out. Where's your dad? Where's your dad? Where's the

Your mom, where's your mom at? Where's mom? Come on. Come on. >> Coral Springs Police, come outside. Coral Springs Police, COME OUTSIDE. >> COME HERE. Come here. Walk towards me. Come here. No weapons on you? All right. Come over here. Behind the behind the behind the Come on. Come over here. Come here.

All right. >> Two teenagers eventually emerged from the home, visibly shaken and distressed. But officers couldn't afford to let their attention shift for long. Their priority was still to locate and disarm whoever was holding the gun inside, especially with the possibility that the shooter could use the chaos surrounding the teenagers as an opportunity to slip

out unnoticed. But this was not going to be easy. As the teenagers came outside, they almost immediately began trying to head back toward the house, forcing officers to hold them back and keep them away from the danger zone. It created a confusing picture for police. If the boys were clearly terrified of what had

just happened inside, >> [music] >> why were they suddenly trying to go back in? Nonetheless, with the only two children now out of the house, >> [music] >> they were ready to enter. Yet they made one vital mistake. >> CORAL SPRINGS POLICE, COME OUTSIDE! CORAL SPRINGS POLICE! You're in the house, come outside!

>> Whatever you want to go back in. >> mom at? Where is mom at? >> CORAL SPRINGS POLICE, COME OUTSIDE! >> I got shots fired inside the house. I got shots fired out. >> As the teenagers made their way out of the home, officers suddenly heard one final gunshot ring out from inside. But

at that moment, they had no idea just how significant that single shot would turn out to be. Before we continue, every investigation has one thing in common. You wouldn't build an entire case around a single piece of evidence. One clue can be missed, >> [music] >> misunderstood, or simply not tell the whole story. There's a reason detectives

build a case with an entire team behind them. Just like there's a reason Morgan and Morgan is America's largest injury firm. >> [music] >> They've been fighting for the people for over 35 years, recovering more than 30 billion dollars for their clients. And with more than 1,000 lawyers and 100 offices nationwide, hiring Morgan &

Morgan is like having an army behind your case. [music] If you're injured because of someone else's negligence, you deserve to be paid. Not all law firms are the same. >> [music] >> Hire the wrong one and you may be beat before you even start. So, if you're ever injured, you can check out Morgan &

Morgan. Their fee is free [music] unless they win. To see if you have a claim, you can go to forthepeople.com/truecrime [music] or you can use the link in the description and the pinned comment. Now, with that [music] said, let's get back to the investigation. >> Shots fired. >> There's a female inside. The mom's still

inside. >> Hollis Springs Police. HOLLIS SPRINGS POLICE, COME OUT WITH YOUR HANDS UP. YOU NEED >> HOLD THIS. >> HOLLIS SPRINGS, HANDS UP. YOU NEED >> YOUR HANDS UP IF YOU WANT. >> COME ON OUT. COME ON OUT. COME on out. COME ON OUT. COME ON OUT. Come out TO ME NOW. COME OUT TO ME NOW.

KEEP COMING OUT. DO IT NOW. KEEP COMING OUT. KEEP COMING OUT. TURN AWAY FROM ME. TURN AWAY. >> HEY, HANDS, HANDS, HANDS. >> WHO'S INSIDE? WHO'S GOT A GUN? WHO'S GOT A GUN? >> MA'AM, SPEAK. >> HANDS. >> Cover her up. >> Cover her up. >> Cover her up. Hollis Springs Police. Is there anybody else inside the house?

No, your sons are out. Hollis Springs Police. Sir, is somebody hurt in here? Let me get the shield. All right. The kids said there's only the mom and the dad in the house.

Sir. All right, just hold your line. >> I'm going to I'm going to plug. Let's go.

>> L24, the front door is a jar. One BOLO is out. We're making an announcement that the door We have units in the back 10-4.

>> What officers still didn't realize was that the woman who had just stepped out of the house was not another victim trying to escape the chaos. She was 45-year-old Denise Malcolm, and only seconds earlier, she had fired the final shot that killed her 52-year-old husband, Rohan Malcolm. When officers entered the home, they

found Rohan Malcolm unresponsive on the bedroom floor. A postmortem examination later determined that he had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, including a wound to the shoulder and additional penetrating injuries caused by the subsequent shots. The injuries resulted in catastrophic internal trauma and severe blood loss. His death was ruled a homicide caused by multiple gunshot

wounds, with the final round believed to have produced the fatal injury. Now, officers were left with Denise and her two twin sons. It was vital that all three were separated and spoken to individually, but with the commotion quickly drawing attention from neighbors and bystanders, investigators first had to make sure the scene was fully

secured. Only then could they begin working out exactly what had happened inside the house. >> His dad said his dad was shot in the shoulder, so he was probably shot in the shoulder. As we were traveling here, I'm going to be out of range real quick. >> The second shot was a gunshot wound to

the head. As the front door was opened up, there was two two boys I think the kid I think the dad was >> No, hit the kid, not >> No, no, no. The dad is I think the dad The He said the dad was hitting the arm. >> Oh, I got you. I got you.

>> Not sure where they want us to tape off cuz I don't know what's the actual crime scene what's not. I'm assuming they want the whole building. You want the whole building?

>> The sheer number of officers arriving at the scene made things slightly disorganized and securing the property took longer than expected. That delayed the next crucial step, separating the family members and finding out exactly what had happened inside the house. But even before those conversations began, officers were already starting to realize that speaking to the twins might

not be as straightforward as they hoped. >> [music]

>> Did you or your brother call? You didn't? You did a good job calling us. Who else lives at the house besides you and your brother? >> Mom and dad. >> Mom and dad? So there's four of you? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> My dad was here.

>> So so so what happened before? Like was there Like is that your dad in there? No, is that dad inside? >> Mhm. >> Would that be that? Okay, so so so what happened with with dad earlier? >> Like prior? >> Yes. >> I don't know. I had music on. I was playing the music.

>> Okay, so >> I just heard it because it overlaid the music just for a second. >> I understand it overlaid it. Okay. All right. All right. Was that Did that go out anytime today or something? >> Like an argument or something? >> Yeah. Did you have a argument with anybody? No? Did dad leave the house at any time

today? >> Uh-uh. >> No, but he was planning to. >> Okay, to go where? >> I don't know. >> I understand, man. It's challenging for you. I get you. You can let it out as much as you want to, okay? >> I don't want my mom arrested. >> Where's Mom? >> I don't know.

>> I don't know. Are Are her and Dad together? >> They're getting divorced. >> Oh, I understand. I understand. Where's Mom right now? >> I don't know. I saw her being taken away in some car or whatever. >> Okay. Did Did Did you see like Okay, so How about we start this way? Like, did

you hear So, you were on your computer. >> Mhm. >> You're listening to to music. >> Yeah. >> Your brother does what typically? >> I don't know where he was. I saw him in the garage, but >> Okay. >> he eats >> Okay. >> He uses the TV, too. Like, I got him

playing music in the garage. >> Okay. Okay. Okay. I get you. And then at at any given rate, like, scenarios like that, you know, on a Saturday morning, typically, that's how everybody is kind of like spread out in the house, correct? >> I get you. >> So, like, you would What? What? And then basically, so you're How long

do you remember if you're in the room for a while or no? >> Uh I mean, they were on the room before before um everything happened. >> I came back. >> Okay. >> Uh I was eating Chinese food. >> Mhm. Do you know where they went? >> No. >> Okay. >> I mean, they got food when they went,

but I don't know where I was. >> I was eating Chinese food, talking to friends, and then it it it it's been the noise. I came and it It's Excuse me. >> I get you. >> Officers began speaking to the twins separately, but getting information from them was not easy. One of the boys was

far too overwhelmed to properly explain what had happened, while the other claimed he knew almost nothing other than [music] his dad's cheating history because he had been in the garage listening to music. Of course, after witnessing something this traumatic, confusion and shock were completely understandable. Still, something about their answers stood out to officers,

almost as if certain details were being avoided. So, they continued questioning the boys separately knowing that children can sometimes reveal small pieces of information without realizing how important they are. And before long, those details would become crucial when officers finally turned their attention to Denise. >> Don't let it eat you. Get it off your

chest. You'll sleep better. You'll live better. >> It was just that I just we were dating. We were working on our relationship. Then he just sideswiped it with some BS. >> Why the last shot? Did he say something to you that really pissed you off that you're thinking about? >> Speak to me while you're thinking about

it so I can hear it. >> I don't know. >> That was your plan? Did you stand over him and >> I'm not going to change anything. >> They don't know that they're dead. Did you know that? Did you tell them that you don't know? >> So, you accomplished what you wanted to

accomplish, right? >> Yes, sir. >> But there's one part you didn't accomplish, Denise, and that's you sitting here talking to me. I think he just got bored. >> [clears throat] >> He told me a little bit about the history with you guys. Look at me, hon. He told me a little bit about the

history. I'm sorry you had to go through that. Okay? Honestly, I honestly don't know anybody should have to deal with somebody betraying them on a constant basis. He also told me you guys were living separately in the house. How long has that been going on? >> Separately in the house? >> So, you've been living in two different

rooms for a year and a half? not before that? >> I don't know before. >> Okay, cuz you wasn't sure. >> Anyway. >> Yeah. He didn't know you had a gun. >> Mhm? >> He didn't even know you owned guns. He was like, "I never seen him shoot before." Did you just buy that?

>> No. >> No? >> Maybe a year ago. >> Oh, you had that long? Just kept it from the kids for their safety? >> Yes. >> Okay. Thanks. Did Did he Your son didn't tell me if he uh your husband was I'm just going to go out and say it. I'm trying to be as as as cordial as

possible, but >> No, he wasn't abusive, you know. >> So, you bought the gun a year and a half ago, not to protect yourself from him? >> No. >> Okay. >> I don't think that a year and a half ago would be a year ago. That's what I thought it was. >> Who'd you get it from?

>> I don't know. Pawn shop. >> So, why don't you tell me what happened tonight? I mean, we already pretty much know, but you know, I want to hear your side of the story. I want to get it from you because you have a right to tell me what's going on. >> It's just

I just snapped. I just I couldn't do it anymore. >> What do you mean by you just snapped? >> It's been going back and forth. Um I was I don't know what I'm talking about. He kept saying I'm going to take the kids away from him. It's better we stay together, but I

don't want to live like that. >> So, what happened tonight that made you as you put it, snap? >> It was becoming clear to officers that there had been a long history of problems within the marriage. According to the comments made earlier by one of Denise's sons, his father had repeatedly been unfaithful. But even with that

background, officers still had one major question. Out of the three people who had been inside the home that evening, nobody had yet clearly explained what happened for Rohan to end up dead. >> And then so you were sleeping the whole time? >> No. >> You were in the living room when you heard the shots, you went to the garage.

And how long did you stay in the garage? What made you What made you come out? >> I don't >> After the first shots, did you hear anything? Okay. So when you left the garage, where did you go to? >> I I I saw I went back to the >> Okay. Okay. So you were in the garage until the cops

got here and you came out to the living room when your brother was already talking to the cops? >> Yeah. >> Okay. And then what happened after you saw your brother talking to us? >> I came out through the front door, the garage. >> And is that when you see the cops in the

living room? >> Uh >> Okay. They started with the less aware brother, who stuck to the story that he was in the garage with headphones. He claimed he heard the shots, but never imagined they were coming from his own house until his brother came in and told him to stay there. >> Yeah.

As you put it, snap. >> Just the lies, the the constant lies, the constant You don't want me to move out, you don't want me to leave. You keep saying you want your family, but you don't because you keep doing what you're doing. So what are we going to do about him? Throw him in a ball.

>> I don't know. >> I will find everything tomorrow. Because it's Labor Day. So we went to Sam's and got meat, we got stuff we're going to >> Have a cookout or barbecue? Okay. When did you do that today? >> Yeah. So I came back and all of a sudden he's telling me his

friends need him to come and go somewhere and he's going to go uh go with his friend Chris. And then I see a bag. I say, "Go with Chris, why do you need a bag?" So the lies just keep coming again and again and again. It's almost like a overnight bag. >> Like a backpack?

>> No, a small >> Like a duffel bag? >> Almost like a carry-on, but a tiny one. Like you would have on a business trip and it has a >> Yeah, did it have an extended handle or what? >> Yeah, that's the one. >> Got you. Okay, so you confront him with that,

what happens now? >> We just started arguing. >> And where were you when this happened? The arguing part. >> In the room. >> Which room were you in? I'm sorry? >> In the room. >> Which room? >> The little one. >> Which is his room or your room? >> My his room. >> Okay.

Well, did you bring the gun in with you or did you have to go get it? >> I went and got it. >> You went and got it? Where was it? >> It's in my bedroom. >> There in your bedroom? Was it loaded already? Yes? >> Yes. >> You loaded it like that's how how you

put it away, you had it loaded. What does that mean like full magazine and one in the chamber? And did you have to rack it? >> Yeah, I had to rack it. >> So when you took it out of the box, opened the case, then you had to rack it? >> Or was it already ready to go?

>> No, I don't keep it ready just in case the kids find it, but where I have it, they wouldn't have found it, but I didn't keep it with one in the chambers. >> Okay. You mind telling me what made you go get it? >> Cuz last night we were talking happy and

the whole family thing and he always does that. He always make it seem like we're working on our relationship and then he just sideswipe you with some BS. >> At first, asking whether the gun was already loaded might seem like an insignificant detail, but legally, it could make a major difference. If Denise

had taken the gun from its case and then loaded it herself, that meant there was an extra step between the argument and the shooting. A moment where she had to physically prepare the weapon before using it. That could help prosecutors argue that her actions were not entirely instantaneous >> [music] >> or purely driven by a sudden burst of

emotion. By admitting she loaded the gun herself, Denise may have unknowingly given investigators evidence that she had time to think about what she was doing before pulling the trigger. >> Hey. Um just so you know, they don't know that the dad is dead. Did you know that? Okay. So, if they if they should happen

to ask you, you tell them that you don't know. We have a victim advocate 51 and we'll use her for that. Hey, you guys have body camera Do you guys have body cameras? >> Yeah. >> Keep your body cameras running the entire time just in case either one of them say anything additional that they

did not say to a detective. >> Okay. >> All right. Okay. All right, thank you. >> Thanks. >> While speaking to the twins, neither of them seemed to realize that their father had actually died from his injuries, but there was still one question officers needed answered. Had either of them actually seen their mother shoot him? So

far, both boys had avoided giving a clear answer. Because of that, officers made sure their body worn cameras stayed recording at all times, knowing that even a small comment made in passing could end up revealing something important. >> So you uh Did he I mean did he specify anything to you that Like he said he was going to go with his

friends and like at what point did you get mad? >> He got mad before everything happened. And then he said we were I just wanted the barbecue when everything and then obviously he had this planned it out all all along. So the whole barbecue was a lie. He just made it seem like his friends just

called and they're planning some road trip out of town and he's just going to go for a day or two. What are you talking about? Why you got to sleep on the couch tonight? >> And that was about an hour before you got your gun? >> Well, that's when he mentioned the trip

that he's going to go. So you just started arguing from then, but it didn't get heated until like the I didn't even want to realize he was serious. I thought he just I didn't know he was serious. That's why >> So were you in his room when you found out he was serious?

When you realized it anyway? >> No, the whole conversation was in his room or in the kitchen in my room and in has one. >> But once you realized he was serious >> in our bedroom >> and that's when you walked out and went to your bedroom and got the gun. So tell me what happens when you walk

back in. >> I just pulled the trigger. >> How many times? >> I don't know. Felt like a lot. >> More than two? >> Yes. >> When the cops showed up and started giving you commands they heard one more pop. One more loud bang. What was that? Honey, I know what it is. I just need

you to get it off your chest. Look at me. Don't let it eat you up. Get it off your chest. You'll sleep better. You'll live better. Talk to me. Look at me. Thanks. >> [snorts] >> Hey. Look at me. I'm right here. Hey. Tell me. >> He shouldn't have wanted it. He shouldn't have asked to

let us divorce. >> But why the last shot? Was it Did he say something to you that really pissed you off at the last time? Where did you shoot him? It's okay. You can tell us. Was it in the back of the head? >> I guess so. >> You were there. I wasn't.

What is As I said in the beginning, I know. I I just I want the specifics. I don't want anything, you know, cuz your kids were trying to kind of stick up for you and not say stuff to us. >> [clears throat] >> They're good kids. I get it. But I don't want them to get wrangled into this. I'd

rather hear every specific from you. Look at me. I got one that one question I need answered. I need you to answer that one question. [snorts] When the police were there and your son's left. >> I was going to shoot myself. >> That was your plan? >> I was going to shoot myself.

>> [snorts] >> What would you do instead? >> When I heard him yelling, I just froze. >> So that last shot was supposed to be for you, but you pointed it at him instead because he was your own. Tell me. You tell me in your own words. Don't let me guess at this. I don't want

to guess. It's okay. We're We're almost done. Let's just get this out of the way. >> Though at this point, officers knew the story. They needed to try to get that last final [music] question out of Denise as her children were not giving them the whole story, but it wasn't going to come easy.

>> Was he on the ground when you shot him the last time? >> He was laying on the ground. >> Was he on his stomach or on his back? >> Um he was on his stomach then. >> Okay. And when you shot him that last time, where did you shoot? I know you're thinking about it. Speak

while you talk or excuse me, speak to me while you're thinking about it so I can hear it. Please. End this conversation with you. I don't want to bring this up again. I don't want to come back to this. I want to get it over with just like you do. So just tell me, please.

Cuz I understand the first three shots or four shots or whatever it was. You don't know how many times you pulled the trigger or where you hit him, right? Cuz it just happened kind of fast. But that last one I know you remember. So tell me that one. Since you can't tell me the other ones,

will you do that for me? I just wanted you to just tell me first before we go. I need you to tell me this. You clearly wanted to yourself at the end of this. What happened? >> I don't >> Talk to me. >> I I don't know. That was the plan. That was the plan.

>> But why didn't you do it? There's a reason why. >> I don't know. I just froze. Just

>> You said you heard him yelling. >> Um yeah, I heard him yelling. >> Cops weren't there. >> Why wasn't the cops? >> No, I mean they weren't there when that happened. They They were outside, but they weren't in their room. >> No, I wasn't saying they were they were. >> So, I can't I need to hear it from you,

not them. They didn't see it. I just want the truth, the whole truth, nothing but the truth, as we say. I don't want to guess. I don't want to write something down that might not be true. I don't want to say, well, you know, she just did this instead of this. I'd rather

just tell the story as it is and be done. Will you let me do that, please? >> You have the story. >> Not up to that point, just that last part. That's all I need. >> It doesn't >> It does to me. >> I didn't do it. So, I don't >> I know you didn't.

I know. And I know you're distraught about it. But I just want to know, was he on his stomach when you shot him, or was he on his back? >> He was on his >> But how did he get it in the back of his head? The last time he was on his back, you

shot him there. He must have said something to you to stop you from yourself, which really upsets you, even more than you were already upset, but it stopped you. It stopped you And it pushed you to shoot him again. What did he say to you? >> I I didn't >> Yeah, it doesn't matter. Every little

bit matters. I It doesn't matter how It does matter. >> Did he even say anything? >> How do I know that if you don't tell me everything? Cuz if I if I if I know this much But if there were little little ones right there >> They didn't see it. >> Can you answer this for me, Denise?

Were you outside the room or inside the room when you shot him? Did you ever go full Did you ever go into the room? >> Went in and closed the door to him. >> Okay. So, I understand that there's shell casings on the outside of the bedroom. And then there's shell casings on the

inside. >> Yeah, outside of the doorway I stepped in and closed the door. >> Okay. So, how close were you when you shot him the last time? >> Same distance. I guess when he was >> Okay. Did you shoot him in the head? >> [snorts] >> I guess. >> It's not a guess. You He would know.

So, either yes or no, Denise. Did you stand over him? It's not going to change anything. And you're aiming towards Sweetie, it's not going to change anything. I just want you to understand that. Because I want to hear the truth, and I want to hear it come out of your mouth. Okay. >> The second detective managed to get

Denise to effectively admit that she had shot Rohan in the head without her ever directly saying those exact words. But by this point, Denise's emotional state had clearly changed. She seemed reluctant to keep going over the details, repeatedly insisting that none of it mattered anymore because she had already admitted what she had done.

>> Which is why you went to go get your gun? Describe me what your emotions are. And I think you have every right to feel that way. I would be betrayed, too. Did you feel better after you shot him? No? Did you feel somewhat relieved? This is a man that you have children

with, correct? And this is a man that I know you love because as much as you want to Look, and like I always tell people, when you have kids with someone, whether you want to love him or not, you can't help it because they gave you two hands He gave you two handsome boys.

>> He did. >> He truly did. >> He did. >> I know. Where is the gun at? Where did you put the gun? >> I don't know. Tell me to come home and tell me everything that's going to happen to me. Just the best of the world. >> Okay. Whilst clearing her children's names

from the case, Denise fully admitted to killing her husband and deliberately firing the final shot that ended his life. She was initially charged with first-degree murder with investigators concluding that the killing stemmed from years of marital problems and Rohan's repeated infidelity, which Denise said had left her at her wit's end with his

lies and deceit. But the case would eventually end with Denise serving justice. In June 2025, Denise was charged with second-degree murder with a firearm, and she was sentenced to 21 years in prison. Once again, we have a Patreon with uncensored and raw footage. Link in the description.
