I Turned the Mac Mini M6 into a Private AI Hub

Right now, I've got a local AI model running on this Mac mini and I can well, just access it on my iPad and do that >> [music] >> anywhere. It's a crazy time we're living in. This is the new Mac mini M5 Pro or M6 depending on what you get and I think

they could be the point where private local AI becomes practical for far more of us. I'm going to show you how I set this one up as an always-on AI assistant I can work with across my documents on my computer and all of that means that you could now run tasks locally without

sending all that data to the cloud [music] or getting charged for every token you use. And yeah, I have set this up with an iPad. I'm using Screens >> [music] >> 5. It becomes a remote desktop and that means that I can walk off with my iPad and be anywhere in the world

>> [music] >> and use this. Now, yes, of course, there is some setup to doing this because even Apple can't make local AI completely idiot-free. Yeah, but once it's running, this little machine is silent, efficient, and extremely capable for well, three figures if you get the M6. So, let's look at what it can really do,

how simple it is to set up a truly offline local model on a Mac, what gigabytes you might need and RAM and all of that. And at the end, we'll look at which specification is actually worth buying for you. I have always loved the Mac mini. It's always been a bit of a sleeper

powerhouse. The M6 and M5 Pro could make it even more useful for local AI. I have the M5 Pro here. It's running 24 GB of RAM and a 1 TB of storage and I'll show you how to set all of this up in a moment. So, the M6 Mac mini is weirdly the less powerful chip than the M5 Pro
