[Music] Pergamino is a city located in the north of the province of Buenos Aires, 222 km from the city of Buenos Aires and 120 km from Rosario, Santa Fe. In 1997 it was declared the National Seed Capital due to its important role in agriculture. Its history is intimately related to this activity. [Music]

The lands that make up Pergamino and its surroundings received European immigrants at the end of the 19th century, initially Irish and Scottish producers, and years later settlers from Spain, France, and especially Italy. Around 1895, an auction was held, a rural subdivision of a very famous ranch belonging to people over 10,000 hectares that were

subdivided and rural roads were built. My grandfather arrived there from Italy and at the auction bought the plot that still belongs to the same family group today. On October 23, 1895, Pergamino was declared a city by law of the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies of the Province of Buenos Aires. Livestock and agriculture were

always the pillars of its production. The fields were initially used for livestock, first cattle and then sheep, but at the end of the 19th century, with the establishment of the agro-export model, Argentina modified its productive profile and became one of the largest suppliers of grains and cereals in the world. At that time,
