Today, I'm joined by Chris Daniels who has 30 plus years experience in QSR leading brands such as Freedom Pizza in Dubai to leading virtual kitchen operations for Delivery Hero out of Berlin and is now back at Domino's in the UK where it all began. Chris,
welcome to the show. Thanks Kieran, really good to be here. So Chris, how did it all get started at Domino's? Well, the funny thing is I was actually an engineer when I first left school and I was doing heavy machinist engineer and I come to my school friends Darren and Mark were working at Domino's as pizza
delivery boys on the mopeds delivering pizzas and they were sort of like, "Why don't you come down and work with us on the evenings?" So, I I started working for Domino's on a Friday night, Saturday night for a few hours a night just delivering pizzas and that was really where I got started. And
then from there, I I sort of left the engineering, decided that I would use Domino's as a as a stop gap which a lot of people do this in the QSR industry. And that became full-time as a delivery driver and then I was offered the position of a training manager by one of
the managers in the store. And that was really where I I started my my main step up and that was about 8 months after I started as a a wee 17-year-old. But made it so that I had to sort of leave home and move to what would be the the big city at the time for me which
would have been moving to Nottingham. So, I took the jump and that was where it really where it all began of my management training. Amazing. Well, you have to thank those friends for getting you into it at the beginning. Or I can or or or blame them. Yeah, I think that's the word I would use but That's
