Cybersecurity Basics & Threats

Hello everyone, welcome back. In this video, we are going to start covering some cyber security um basics. Uh being that we already covered hardware, software, programming language and things of that nature, we need to start looking into how are we protecting ourselves and our devices. So what exactly is cyber security? It's basically looking at how you protect any

technology devices, whether that's your computer, the network you're using, and your data that you have on these devices from attacks and threats. So, just kind of think of, you know, cyber security like locking your houses. You would always want to make sure that you're covering every way possible that someone can enter your home, such as your doors,

your windows, and even putting up a protective system. So, in this case, think of your doors as passwords. Windows would be um software vulnerabilities. You know, you don't want those to get inside of your home or your device. and your security system would just be your protection to make sure that anything is not intruding that

will cause impact to your device. So basically cyber security is for everyone. You know if you have a technology device you pretty much are at risk of being a victim of a cyber attack or threat and you should always make sure you protect yourself. So if you use any technology or the internet in

general, everything we're covering in this video should matter to you. So here we have some common cyber security threats. I'm sure many of you have heard of some of these, but we'll cover a few of these. So these would be considered um some of your most popular cyber security threats. Many of you
