How PRO Devs Set Up Roblox Games

Roblox projects fall apart as they grow, not because of bad code, but because of that structure. This is the exact structure that I use, and I'm going to walk you through it

Let's break down the structure behind the professional-grade Roblox game. Game logic should be broken into services. Each service owns a slice of your game and manages related data and systems.

For example, build service would handle placement of parts, while enemy service controls enemy spawning and tracking. Although not always required, each service is typically split into client and server versions with shared functionality or data placed in a utility module. This keeps your logic organized, makes debugging easier, and helps your game scale cleanly as it grows.

So, what does this actually look like in Studio? First, we're going to create a shared folder. This will house our shared and client game logic. Inside of shared, create a services folder. Each service will have a dedicated folder assigned to it for easy scalability. In this example, I will create a build service. The client version of each

service will live here along with any needed shared utility scripts. We must place the server versions of each service under server script service in order to prevent exploiters from downloading sensitive server code.
