Okay. Welcome everyone. We are ready to begin. [clears throat] Except me. Uh, let's start with a prayer.

Dear God in heaven, we are grateful for the privilege of being alive and to see things that um prophets of old would have desired to see.

For this opportunity, I thank you. In Jesus' name. Amen. So, there are a lot of questions. I'm not sure how many I'll be able to go through. But, I'll do my best. If I'm unable to answer your question, it's it's not because I'm unwilling. There's just a lot of them. Um, so one that has been asked uh by

different people, but it's the same question. So, I'll start with that one. It says, "How should we prepare for the second coming in 2028?"

So, we could remove the time bit, the time aspect. The question would still work the same. How to prepare for the second advent? So, I want to give a bit of history. It It might seem unrelated, but the reason I want to approach it this way

is because I want to give my response a prophetic um context or framework. So that you can at least have confidence that I'm not giving you my thoughts,

but this is something that you could take and work out and come to the same answer. So, um what's the most most important time prophecy to Seventh-day Adventist?

I'll I'll I'll qualify my my my question. Please think like 7th Day Adventist. So, ask it again. What's What's the most important prophecy to 7th Day Adventist? The 2300. The longest and last time prophecy in Great Controversy 351.

When did that prophecy begin? 457. When the Jewish nation had its national sovereignty restored.

So, what had happened before then?

Why were they being restored?

Because of the 70-year captivity.

Who took them into captivity?

It was Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon. And when he was taking them into captivity, what else did he do?

Destruction of Jerusalem and the temple. So, somewhere in this time, I'm not being specific, you have the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple.

So, whenever Jerusalem was Whenever God's people were attacked, and the temple was targeted, there's a statement a statement that they would say. Maybe not all the time, but it became associated with all the instances. Does anyone know what that statement is? I heard it somewhere there. Ichabod. And what did Ichabod mean? The glory departed.

And what was that glory literally?

So, it was the Shekinah glory. And the Shekinah glory lived where?

That was a bad question. In the most holy place. Where exactly? Exactly in the most holy place. Above the ark. So, when you think of the time of Samuel, when the Philistines attacked them attacked Israel, what did they target? They captured the ark. And when you get to the destruction of the temple by Nebuchadnezzar,

what happened to the ark? Does anyone know what happened to the ark? Hopefully people I didn't talk to today. I'm saying people that did that I did not talk to today. The answer is in the spirit of prophecy.

Yes. So, Elaine said Jeremiah hid the ark. Did we know that? So, if you reread Prophets and Kings, you you get the answer. When Jerusalem was under siege, Jeremiah took the ark and hid it.

And it was never seen after that. So, why am I giving you this background? When you get to 457, and the nation has some form of independence now, so they've got local religious and civil authority. This is the beginning of the 70 weeks and the 2300 days.

>> The temple has been rebuilt. And the services have continued, the temple services. And what is the most important temple service to the Jewish nation? Sorry? The day of atonement. So, in order to have the day of atonement what did you need to do? Or rather, what did you need to have?

I'll rephrase my question. So, the priest is managing this this day or the ceremony what did the priest have to do in the temple?

So, sprinkle blood. Where?

Okay, I'll I'll give the answer I'm looking for. In the most holy place. There are a few other things that the priest had to do. But, it had to be done in the presence of what? Of the Shekinah and the ark. But, what was the problem? In 457 no ark. So, what does the prophecy say?

Because if if you have no ark, you can't do the day of atonement properly. So, you can't really cleanse the sanctuary. So, and what does the prophecy say? 2,300 days then the sanctuary will be cleansed. We know that these days are really years. Won't get into the proof of that. Where do they terminate? Where do they

end? So, in October of 1844 this is where you have the cleansing. That's when it begins. Or let me say that's when it can happen. Why can it happen here?

Revelation 11 Let me quickly check the verse.

So, it begins in verse 14.

But I will not read all the verses. I'll just read verse 19. But I will write 14 to 19. So verse 19 says And the temple of God was opened in heaven and there was seen in his temple the ark of God's testament. Uh the Millerites understood this verse to be fulfilled in 1844.

Because what did they say um happened on that day, on that event?

What did Jesus do? Moved from the holy to the most holy place. And they knew that the ark lived in the most holy place. So the temple that's being opened is specifically the second apartment. The most holy place. And the ark was seen. And this is why you can have the clean cleansing of the sanctuary.

And besides the Shekinah glory, the presence of God what did you have in the ark? The what? The law. So there are many correct answers. But, the one I was looking for is the law. There's an understanding of the law. And when we talk about the everlasting gospel, the final messages to the world,

what are those messages called? The three angels' messages. And which of those messages emphasizes the law of God?

There's more than one correct answer. But, I hope people will understand what I'm looking for.

The one that emphasizes the law.

So, someone said the first angel, which is correct. I'm looking for the other one. The third angel. And in 1844, which message began? The third angel's message. And that message concludes by saying, "These are the people that keep the law." Right? But, there's something else that it speaks about. And what What does the third angel's

message speak about?

What does it speak about? The third angel's message doesn't really speak about judgment. Not directly. I mean directly, what does it talk about?

The worship of whom? It does not talk about the worship of God. The beast? And the beast's image. So, it talks about the beast and the image of the beast. Who's the beast? We should be seeing these things. Who's the beast? Papacy. Who's the beast's image?

Revelation 13. Who's the image? The USA. So, what did Adventism start working out after 1844? I know we focus on the Sabbath. But it's not just the Sabbath. Cuz what did they start to recognize or understand? >> The role of the USA because the third angel's message pointed them to the role of the USA in

prophecy.

So, all of a sudden the Millerites had to understand things about government and law. So, when we talk about the law of God it wasn't just them learning that, "Oh, we should stop working on the last day of the week." It was actually about how do you manage society? What is a righteous law and an

unrighteous law? Or another way to put it is a righteous government and an unrighteous government. And the parable that was going to be used by God to explain this controversy was whom? The answer is on the board.

The USA. The USA was the parable God was going to use to teach the Millerites more about law. So, all those things that they were studying saying the USA is going to pass an unrighteous decree First, they said slavery. Then they said Sunday. The issue wasn't just about slavery. What about the day of worship?

It was about how a government is supposed to behave. What is the righteous thing to do for a government? How should it view and treat people? So, we we speak of the cleansing of the sanctuary. Another word that's been used in Adventism is reconciliation. Because when you're cleansing it, you're cleansing it of sin.

And sin is the transgression of the law. So, if you're cleansing it and restoring things to where they're supposed to be, it means you also have to reconcile transgressors to the law. So, re- reconciling the people to the law. And what's the only way to reconcile people to the law? How do you make a person love the law?

I'll give you a clue. What's my favorite subject? The new covenant. And what does the new covenant say? How do you get people to love the law? You give them a new heart. Which is a new mind. So, is God going to cut people's heads open? Take their brains out? And then put new brains in them?

Is that what was going to happen? Sure you know that's not what was going to happen. So, how do they get a new heart? Education. So, this story of reconciliation or restoration is actually a story of education. And the education, without proving it, I'll say is twofold. But this is this is a concept derived

from Isaiah 28. About how God teaches people. It's either line upon line which is instruction or hail. You know the the rain the ice that falls from the sky? I don't know what the ice that falls from the sky when it's raining. Yes, hail. Or pain. Cuz this hail was the king of of north.

And I So, I will summarize these two things as instruction or external events. Really, I just want to call them events. So, this is how the educational process will take place. So, by instruction and by experience. So, if we look at the Adventists, they were going to do Bible study. So, that's formal instruction.

But, they were also going to have to experience the Sunday law crisis. So, that's pain or external events. And this process gives them new minds. A different way of thinking. This was the purpose of raising up the Advent movement of the Adventist Church.

We already know that the Adventist Church was raised up to prepare people for the second Advent. But, what the Millerites believed is that they prepare people by shouting at them. Scaring them. Tell them God's going to kill you if you don't listen to God. And by the way, God is coming really soon.

So, get your act together. We know that did not work. It failed. For reasons I won't go into today. But But the point that I want to make is that Adventism was raised up to understand and explain the law. So, they're an institution committed to law. The law of God. We And another way to put it is the

government of God or the kingdom of God. So, when they were resisting slavery laws and equal laws, they were doing that because they were saying, "The laws that the USA are passing are in opposition to the laws of God's government." Same with the Sunday Sabbath issue. A. T. Jones stood up in Congress and said, "It's not right

for the government to force people to worship in a certain way."

Because he was opposing Sunday laws. Then he was asked, "So, if we make an exception or put a law for Sabbath, would you be happy?"

And what did A. T. Jones say? "I would equally oppose you if you enforced Seventh-day Sabbath laws as you would with Sunday laws." Because he was saying, "That's not the role of the government. It shouldn't be compelling people's consciences. What's a righteous government supposed to do when it looks at people that believe differently?

How is it supposed to treat them? Equally. That's what Adventists were saying in the 1800s. So, this is not something that we've come up with. This is not something that we have come up with. It's part of Adventist history. It's part of the plan of salvation. It's the process of cleansing the sanctuary

or giving a new mind a new way of a new way of looking at people and looking at the law. So, Adventism did not do its did not do its job very well.

The job of explaining the law because it wasn't really their job. Their job was to be an incubator. It was about to preserve the law until such a time that someone would come and explain it. And I'm not making this up. If you look at ancient Israel, that's what their job was. At the beginning,

at Sinai, they are given the law. They do not understand that law. Their main job was to keep the knowledge of that law alive. And then at the end, who would come? Christ would come and the law would be explained. So, of course, it wasn't Jesus alone, but Jesus and his disciples. But the point is the law is understood

or explained at the end. So this is Adventism at the beginning. The Millerites and those that followed them. And at the end we've got the 144,000. Or this movement. So was Adventism successful in their job?

A question to you. I see people saying no. I hear people saying no. But But the answer is yes. They were very successful. Because without Adventism you wouldn't have this movement. And what is this movement obsessed with? With the law. This movement is all about law. What's your justification for doing this? Or saying that

how we supposed to live our lives in preparation for the second Advent. Where did we get that obsession with law? We got it from Adventism. So Adventism was a success. A resounding success. And our job is to take the law that they have preserved and do what? Explain it. Because they focused on slavery.

And then Sunday Sabbath. But what are we doing? We're saying it's everything. We're applying a principle to everything. And we say equal rights under the law applies to everyone. So they would never be able to explain it. Because it wasn't their job. It was our job. Just like it was Christ's job. And we already have lines that prove

that this movement is Christ. So what does all this have to do with preparation for the second advent?

Because how we are supposed to prepare for the second advent prophetically I'll say is two things. The first thing is to take care of yourself. Take care of and improve yourself. So this encompasses all aspects of your life. So take care and improve yourself. The second thing is change how you view people.

>> So, this could be expanded to many things. Change how you view government.

But, I'll just summarize it into these two statements. This is all related to everything we've been talking about up to this point. But, we are prepared we are prepared for the second advent by education. And it's both through instruction and external events. Our primary parable is the United States. It's the one that anchors us, if I can

say that. Well, that's what the third angel's message pointed us to. It helps us to understand what the controversy's about, how it works.

So, Elder Terry just took us through some of the thinking of the people in power in the USA right now.

And that's supposed to show us how not to do government.

And how not to view people. Because how do they view people? You've got a select few that deserve the right to life and happiness. And what happens to everyone else? Leave them to die. God's government does not work that way. Because that is not equality under the law. And that's what That's part of this educational process.

So we shouldn't be seeing people as those that are deserving and those that are not deserving.

We We should be learning to recognize everyone's humanity. So if you hadn't made the connection, this is about your relationships. So you need to So without your relationships, I don't think this means you're friends with everybody. But it means you learn to recognize everyone's rights. And I guess unlearn co- unlearn coercive control.

Because controlling behavior, whether it's extreme or subtle, or patriarchal. So we need to learn to recognize people's people's rights, their full rights and their full humanity. So this is all relate This is all related to probably the most important subject to the Adventist Church. According to Ellen White, what was the most important subject?

It was not the Sabbath. The nature of humanity. So, this is all related to the nature of humanity. So, I won't get into all the details of the nature of humanity. But, if you understand your nature, you know that there's a physical side to you. Good to It's a good practice to take

care of yourself. By leading a healthy life. I think we all know that. Educating yourself about the world you live in. And more. And And the reason why I think this number one is important is because the subject of the nature of humanity, which is connected to how law and government works,

because law and government is meant to serve humans. And how do you best serve humans?

By understanding their nature, so if you understand what a human how a human is built, you understand their needs, then you can build institutions that minister to those needs.

So, I hope we see the link between the nature of humanity and law. I hope we see the link between the nature of humanity and law.

So, the most important one is the nature of humanity. It determines what institutions are set up and built. If I'm to use the words of Jesus, Jesus said, "The Sabbath was made for humans, not humans for the Sabbath." So, that law was made for the purpose of benefiting humans.

It was created based on an understanding of human nature and human needs. So, the nature of humanity impacts our understanding of the nature of God's kingdom. I hope that makes sense. So, why I'm laboring this point is because of our expectations of the nature of God's kingdom. So, I'd like to take you back to

Slovakia. 2024 So, this is Eden. This is sin. This is life after sin. So, you have Adam and Eve here before and then Adam and Eve after. What changed? Did Adam and Eve change? Did Adam and Eve change? They did not change. They were the same people after that they were before. They recognized each other after

as they had done before. So, you come to the restoration now. This is the new world. You could say second advent. So, we are humans here and we live a certain way. What are we in the new world? Humans. So, many of the things that we have done and learned in this world

how to manage property how to take care of our bodies, uh etc. The laws of nature and science, engineering. Does any of that change? It doesn't change. Because that's not related to the sin problem. We know the sin problem is I'll just say patriarchy.

And engineering, economics, health is not patriarchy. So, our lives after Jesus comes will be a lot like our lives now. But better. Because no patriarchy to contend with. So, that means if you make it a habit to take care of and improve yourself now, you have a head start in the new world.

You change how you view people now. You learn better ways of managing relationships. So, that's prac- So, that's practicing equality. You'll have a head start when Jesus comes. So, there's a a graph that Elder Parminder drew in 2020, I think. I I don't think I will represent it >> I I don't think I will represent it

accurately. I don't fully remember. But this was time. And this is sanctification. And one of the points that was made in those studies is that people get into heaven at different stages of understanding or sanctification. So some people are here. Others are here. And others are here. When you get into the new world.

So it's your choice as an individual where you want to be on that graph. How smooth you want your transition to be into a kingdom of equality?

Do you want to face the difficulties and struggles that Abraham is going to go through?

And Sarah? Because you're holding on to patriarchy. Or do you want to get there and thrive? I believe that's your choice. So it's So it's up to you to determine

how happy you want to be when Jesus comes. >> Because people will not be happy to the same level. Because they are not educated to the same level. So, the more educated you are happier you are. And I'm talking about being educated in all aspects of life. Is a multi-faceted human being. So, part of

this question, one part of this question was about the need to sell up, sell property. I guess in and of itself selling property is not bad.

People do it all the time. But, the question is why do you want to do it? Are you selling to them because we are going to heaven? Because if you are I hope you can see how problematic that is. Which speaks to point number two. Changing how you view people. I think it will impact your practical

decisions a lot. Hopefully for the better. So, I know I've taken a lot of time on this question. I apologize. But, I thought it was an important question to answer. And I thought it would make it easier to answer other related questions. Because there's I tried to set up a framework. Of things that we already know and have

already been taught. How much time do I have left? Okay. So, this next one will hopefully be much quicker. Just need to find it.

Do we tell our families and then in brackets to strengthen their faith? So, this is do we tell our families about 2028?

So, I think Pedro already mentioned that really the movement cannot tell you what to do. I think it's in line it's in agreement with the principle of the new covenant for you to work out for yourself the best course of action. So, the one of the things I want to speak about related to this question

Is the issue of evangelism that the model of evangelism [clears throat] the model of evangelism is based on the idea that people cannot be saved without us. That is to say without us telling them. So, if we don't tell them they'll be lost. And there's a lot to say about evangelism. But I won't get into all the details

with time. But I'll go back to 1844 and the 2300 days again. So, 457 to 1844 you've got you've got the 2300. 34 AD 34 you've got the end of the 70 weeks. And the And the And then you've got the 1810 years. And what this is normally referred to is the times of the Gentiles.

Where the gospel is specifically in a Gentile dispensation. The Jewish dispensation was driven largely through war. So, the Jewish nation would fight other nations as part of setting up the kingdom of God and spreading it. If you can think of the work that King David did. Or Joshua. In the times of the In the times of the

Gentiles the kingdom of heaven was driven primarily through preaching or evangelism.

This times of the Gentiles came to an end in 1844. And we got into the dispensation of Adventism. This new dispensation was all about law. Understanding law or explaining law. I've already shared that. But the Adventist didn't fully understand this. So, what did they focus on? Especially after 1850.

They didn't focus on studying. They They focused on preaching. Evangelism. And God told them to do it. Told them to preach. And without proving it now this was for the survival of the institution. Until this time here. Where the 144,000 can be raised up. And explain the law. So, evangelism is a tool that God was

using to carry forward their work. Actually came to an end in 1844. Just like God using the system of kings came to their end after the 70-year captivity. When they came out of Babylon. But as we've already discussed in my presentations. Later in the Jewish history they they had kings again. Just in Adventism later on, they

continue evangelism. God still worked with Israel even under the Hasmoneans and beyond.

But when Jesus came, it was clear that the work was going a different direction.

Though also evangelism was used by God or God allowed it. But when you get to our reform line, it becomes increasingly clear that evangelism is not the direction that this movement is going. So, do we have a mandate to preach to people? To engage in some public evangelism? To convert people? The answer, I think, based on prophecy

is no. But personally, I don't know the relationships that you have with individual people. Some people have friends or relatives that they already have conversations of this nature with. Some people are open to the things that we teach.

So, because of the the difficulty of dealing with individual situations,

I think it's difficult to determine what you should do as an individual.

But as a collective, it's not our responsibility to be telling people about 2028. And there was a in parentheses, to strengthen their faith. >> Most people that have tried talking to their families or Adventist friends or others

know that they don't have much faith in what we teach or for different reasons. So, I don't think telling them about 2028 will strengthen their faith in any way.

And this last point is related to what I said earlier on the board about changing how you view people and recognizing people's rights. One of the subtle ways that people can control other people is trying to get them to think like them. Or or be interested in the things that they're interested in.

So, I'll just say as a closing note on that point on that point, yeah.

That as we prepare for the second advent we should be careful not to do that. We should be careful not to subtly force people into our thinking.

It's not a good practice. And I don't believe that's how the kingdom of heaven operates. Next question. I'm anxious we could be heading for the same outcome as the Millerites had in 1844.

Why or how certain that we are not?

So, are we repeating the Millerites? The answer is yes and no. I like the illustration that Elder Terry gave. Of the spiral. That there's a repetition of history. But there's a progression as well. The things will never be exactly the same. We're interested in the second advent like the Millerites. We're grappling with time and prophecy

like the Millerites.

But there's a very important difference between us and the Millerites. Us and them. So, 1798 the Millerites to it. What type of event was that in their message?

It was external. So, this was political. They told 1840. What type of event was that? Political. Then they got to 1843, 1844. And what did they get preoccupied with? The internal. They were focused with themselves. And distinguishing themselves from everyone else. So, this us and them type of thinking. They were not paying attention

to the political events that were happening in 1844. If they had been, what would they have seen before October? That Jesus was not coming in 1844. But for whatever reason, they stopped focusing on the political. And there was there was a disconnect between their prophetic understanding and reality. It was no harmony. I believe we have corrected this

mistake. Because if you look at our entire reform line, from 1989 to the present day beyond. It's all based on on what? The political. We're going through the same events, same experience as the rest of the world. And we are seeing things more or less in the same way as the rest of humanity.

So, when we say that the Trump administration is losing popularity, it's declining politically, and we call that the end of the seventh kingdom. You can talk to anyone in the world who's paying attention to what's happening, and they'll tell you the same thing. So, in our case, prophecy and in real and in reality are

in agreement. So, I'll just say prophecy equals reality. I don't mean equals.

But I'm saying they're in agreement. And this gives you a certain level of confidence that the Millerites could not have. And we have explicitly said that we should bring an end to this us and them way of understanding things. Which again comes to point number two here about preparing for the second advent.

Our relationships and changing how we view people. Because the Millerites saw themselves as the special select group. And we're going to be taken up to heaven in 1844. And everyone else was going to die. Which we learned today and yesterday. Is the thinking of the seventh kingdom. So we have a much better understanding

of prophecy. And a much better understanding of the character of God. And God's government. And that's what gives us confidence. So there's more I could say on this. But because of time I will not. One of the things that I will say is that the old covenant has a certain property to it.

And anyone guess what the characteristic is I'm looking for? It's not examples and principles. It's another one. Okay, for time I'll I'll give it. The old covenant is conditional. And the new covenant is unconditional for reasons I will not get into. Can you see the conditionality in the Millerite covenant or the Adventist

covenant?

What was the conditionality? I'll summarize it this way. If God's people are faithful, what's going to happen? Jesus is going to come. So, Jesus could have come in the time of slavery, but it didn't happen because God's people were not faithful. That's the understanding that's been taught. Jesus should have come in the time of

the Sunday laws, but it didn't happen because God's people were not faithful. So, we see the same thing with ancient Israel. You get life by following the law of Moses. So, they believed righteousness and life, eternal life,

was secured through keeping the law of Moses. So, but what does Paul come and say? The law of Moses cannot give you life. Like eternal life. It never did. And it never will. What gives you eternal life? According to Paul. The promise. The promise is Jesus, of course. So, I'm saying in a similar way

the idea that Jesus was meant to come in 1863 even though it was taught was not true. It wasn't the reality. There were reasons why it was represented that way. But it was not the reality. The reality is the second coming of Jesus isn't dependent on your individual faithfulness. But on an unconditional promise.

An unconditional being right. So, if we are in the new covenant and we're teaching that we are that we understand the reality and the principles then we don't understand Jesus coming as conditional. Jesus' coming is unconditional. Cuz Jesus promised. And if we're under the new covenant we are under the promise. But the Millerites were under the old

covenant. And they didn't understand the promise very well. So, hopefully prophecy can help you deal with that anxiety. There is many ways in which we find ourselves different to the Millerites.

So, I'll attempt to answer one more question. Cuz I think I'm almost out of time. No more time? Okay, I'm sorry. I have no more time. So, I have to leave it at that. But I hope uh it's been helpful in at least understanding what the second advent means to us. The most important thing for me

is not um the exact timing of the event. But it's about understanding the methodology that brings us to these conclusions. And the methodology that helps us to understand our identity and work.

So, understanding what it means for us to be people of law. And people who have to understand the nature of humans how that how that impacts how we view and treat ourselves and how we view and treat other people.

And recognizing that life after Jesus will be a lot like life before Jesus, before Jesus comes.

Minus the patriarchy. So there's a lot of practical things you can do to prepare yourself for that time. So if you're in school, continue school. Cuz you'll probably use that skill set and knowledge then.

And the same applies to all these other things. So the most important thing is how we understand law and how we understand the nature of God's kingdom. Cuz it will determine how we look at ourselves and how we look at and treat other people. I think that is more important than exactly when Jesus is coming in 2028.

Let's pray.

Holy God, uh we are grateful that we can have these conversations in relative peace and safety and try and understand practically how your government impacts us. How the law that you've been trying to explain affects us. And also our job and work as a movement.

And how that all relates to other people.

Those who don't see things the way we do. And even those that don't behave the way that we do.

My prayer is that these conversations can help us to become better people. That have more of your mind, the mind of Christ.

The mind that looks at people equally. And gives sun and rain to both the wicked and the righteous. I wish to have that mind. And I pray that this may be the wish of uh my fellow members in this movement.
