SOMATICS ~ What Are We Talking About?

So, welcome everybody. Those of you, a lot of people signed up. I didn't expect to see a whole lot of people. It's the middle of the day or dinner time or somewhere in the world and uh it's morning here. So people who are working um in various ways may not be able to

take this moment but I want to have the conversation about sematics. What are we all talking about? And the catch word that has become the big rage that I see is a real problem. Um people are becoming seatic educators who do not move, who are intellectual, um who are psychologists and traditionally psychologists don't

move. They sit and listen and therefore most of them from the core of their being are are not actually sensory aware because if they were they wouldn't be able to sit for long periods of time. Um so from science to uh psychology to uh dance to movement sematics is just spread like butter and all butter is not

the same. So, so I'm here after 45 years of calling myself a sematic educator that now I need a new name. Um, because I don't want to be associated with the word um I thought I I have to discuss this. This has to be consciously aware of what are we talking about. So, I'm going to grab

my notes because I want to stay rooted in our conversation um and not take off too far. But I also invited uh the people who are here, which I thank you very much. It's nice to have a community of people show up and also to ask questions um and and then I'll um

uh be able to communicate that to see how that's working out. So the question I've asked is what does sematics mean to you? And um what we've got here is body connection in and out of body mind body space connection. Sematic practice uh support and orient both practitioner and receiver to attune to the inner life
