Controlling Ableton Live with Launchkey [MK3] - In Depth

in this video I'll be showing you how you can take control of a range of Ableton lives functions using the launch key including session view drum mode mixer control and device control everything that's shown in this video applies to the launch key 25 37 49 and 61 key models but the sections using the

faders only apply to the 49 and 61 key models let's start with session view control open Ableton Live hold down shift on your launch key and ensure that the session pad is selected the colored rectangle on screen shows you which clips you're currently controlling with the launch keys pads you can move this

up and down with these two arrows and you can move left and right using the track buttons with the track names being displayed on-screen you can press this scene launch button to launch all of the clips in the first row which is called a scene [Music] the stock solo mute button controls the

function of the bottom row of pads in its default state the bottom row of pads can be used for clip launcher [Music] pressing the stops solo mute button once turns the pad red and shows the stop buttons which you can use to stop clips from playing on each track pressing the button again turns it blue

and shows the solo buttons which can be used to solo just one track and temporarily mute all others pressing the button again turns yellow and shows the mute buttons which allow you to mute tracks pressing the button once more returns it to its default clip launching state here you have a row of transport controls
