[Music] hiya I'm Freddie Frances and welcome to the laboratory part of our course in Russian photonics so today we are going to see how light is going to get light as in the razor Heidi is going to get coupled into your optical fiber so you might have learned in the theory was how
the light actually propagates within the fiber it have this totally no reflection it takes multiple reflections within this wave get maybe various optical fiber it takes this multiple reflections within this very gate and goes from one end to the other so today in this explain today we are going to see how this light ok this laser light can be
coupled into a optical fiber so in the course when you are learning the theory you might have wondered right so how are you going to put this laser light into this small optical fiber so as you might know the the core diameter is the core of course you know that the optical fiber is made of the core and the
cladding and the core is around 9 to 10 micrometer 9 micrometer in case of 1 1550 nanometer wave gates so for a single single more wave it so you might have wondered how we are going to put this this match of light ok this laser light into the small 9 micro meter radius so in this experience we are
going to do X and that will couple light from the laser source into this into this net that is opteka favor and that we will do for different types of wavelets are saying we have a you know here here we have an R and s they regulate laser source so you have a few
much fiber here we have the multimode fiber here and we have a single mode fiber here so we will see how light is going to get launched into all all of these optical fibers and then you'll see what is the kind of kind of pattern that is propagated within each of these fibers we call it what we call it the
