If you want to check the tangential electric field in console both its magnitude and direction, here's how you can do it. Let's start with the magnitude. Suppose I want to see the tangential electric field along this surface. I simply right click on results, create a 1D plot group and then add a line graph. In the manual
selection, choose the boundaries where you want to analyze the tangential electric field. Let me choose my boundaries. Under the y-axis data, go to replex expression and under electrostatic and electric, find the option tangential electric field. You notice that there are three components here, R, V and Z. But our model has no FE component because it is in the two
axis symmetric. To calculate the magnitude, just take the square root of R 2 + Z². Then click on plot and you will see the tangential electric field along your chosen boundaries. Now if you'd also like to visualize the direction of the field, right click on results, create a 2D plot group and add
an option called arrow line plot under the replace expression under electrostatic and electric find the tangential electric field components. Select it and then click on plot. You can see the tangential electric field over the boundaries. For a better visualization, set arrow length to logarithmic. Change the arrow type to cone and change the placement to uniform
and isotropic. Play around with these settings to get the killer's view. You can also show the tangential electric field around a certain domain or on a certain boundary. For that, come here on 2D plot group and the selection area instead of entire geometry. Select domain and select your desired domain and click on plot. You can see the
