[Music] [Applause] [Music] I 'm Ana Elena Mallet, a curator specializing in design, and I'll be taking you to the studios of prominent designers to explore the state of six design disciplines in Mexico. Today, in the Arte Gico design guide, we'll be talking about world design. We're in Colonia Obrera, a neighborhood very close to the historic center, but
traditionally a working-class neighborhood with many small factories that supplied what was happening in the historic center. Today, it's still a working-class neighborhood, and we're going to visit Guillermo Vargas, who has a brand called Un October Takamura. For me, Guillermo is not only a mentor and role model for many younger designers, but he's also
someone who has a very clear vision of what he wants to do and how he wants to do it, and he has a very particular fashion proposal. Thank you so much for welcoming me, for coming to preview the workshop. [Music] Fashion, for me, is by definition enormous. It's a constant, a recurring theme,
because ultimately, the people who create fashion... It was a new color, a new shape, a new production technique, and I call it more clothing than fashion, although I am influenced by fashion, by the great designers, by the great runways. Thank you, sisters, you are technically incredible and admirable. I am Guillermo Vargas, and I am a
fashion designer for a brand that has made a name for itself, Takamura. I am the founder and artistic director of this eighth runway. How have you decided to maintain your brand? I love the world of fashion as it is, from wearing Christian Dior and greetings to the shows here in the national fashion district.
