It's time To Get Rid Of Religion

Hello everyone. This video is a response to and a critique of Andrewism's recent video essay, It's Time to Rethink Religion. As a sort of preface to what follows, long-time viewers of this channel will know that a significant portion of my content consists of criticisms of content creators who I consider to be bad actors in the educational content

space. Misinformation and plagiarism are rampant among theory influencers on YouTube today, and the use of AI has caused the production of anti-educational slop content to explode. The video I'm responding to is not like that, and I want to be clear at the outset, I don't consider Andrewism, hereafter to be referred to as Andrew,

to be a bad creator of educational content in that way. I very frequently disagree with Andrew's takes on things, but even where I do find issues with his arguments or see problems with his reasoning, I want to be very clear that Andrew is someone whose content I generally respect for its earnestness and the

serious attempts he makes to engage with hard and fascinating topics. Andrew is one of the few channels that I legitimately watch and enjoy outside of work, and so here at the beginning, I'd like to emphasize that while I see this video as a critique of Andrew's video essay, I do not see it as a criticism of

Andrew himself. Sometimes people use these words critique and criticism [music] interchangeably, but by critique here, I mean something very specific.
