when I was a young teacher my real sense of assessment um was a fairly negative one I think if you had asked me for a synonym or maybe a Latin root word you know that um was the Genesis of assessment I probably would have said judgment the best use of assessment um in my opinion the best um I guess

synonym for it is mentorship the first big hurdle is can we change our sense of assessment as something we grade for reward and Punishment to something that we use for feedback to help us teach better and help kids learn better and then can we handle all that execution stuff and it's a pretty good
