Free Suspension Upgrade!

By the end of this video, you're going to have better suspension for free. [music] Modern mountain bike suspension is expensive with electronic systems sending pricing into the stratosphere. But here's the truth. Lots of riders are leaving a lot of performance at the trail head. Why? Because they're not setting up the suspension they've got.

So potentially you don't need a bigger budget to have a smoother, faster, more enjoyable ride. Now, before we get too nerdy, a little case for suspension, whether you're on a hard tail or you've got a very nice full suspension bike like this, getting your suspension set up is a really good thing for all types of riders, whether you're

a racer or a weekend warrior like me. Why? Because getting your suspension working gives you more grip and more performance and it's more fun. Suspension is expensive. The really top tier stuff, well, there's lots of small bits. There's lots of moving dials. It can be super expensive. But here's the thing. You might have chosen the bike

that you're on because it had better suspension. But if you're not spending the time setting it up, well, are you getting all your money's worth? Probably not. Time to explain some suspension terms nice and briefly. Why? because we need to have these terms dialed so that we can dial in our suspension. Springs,

we're talking air and we're talking coil. On this bike, we've got air. Effectively, the medium doesn't really matter. What it's doing is holding you up and helping the wheels return down. It's creating the force to hold the wheels onto the ground. Okay. The two different formats. We'll do coil first. This is a wound steel often spring. And
