I am going to open this video with the worst number in the creator economy. 10 million views on YouTube shorts. 10 million in one month. Most channels earn somewhere between $100 and $700 for that. Read that again. 10 million people watched your video and you got paid less than a weekend of overtime. Me? I get

way less views and make 100 times more. In the last 7 days, I made $13,000 from selling PDFs online. Here is my backend. $13,82 in the last seven days. Shorts pay around 1 to eight cents for every thousand views. Tik Tok pays anywhere from five to 100 times more per view. On the ad money alone, Shorts is the worst

paying short form platform there is. So why am I telling you to use it? Because YouTube has one thing that Tik Tok does not have and Facebook does not have and Instagram does not have. And once you see it, the tiny ad money stops mattering at all because you will never be chasing it in the first place. Before

we proceed, I would like to personally connect with some of my viewers. So, let me know in the comments what country you are watching this video from. So, here it is. On Tik Tok, a personal account cannot even put a clickable link in the bio until it has 1,000 followers. On YouTube, you can put a link in the

description of your very first short with zero subscribers [music] on day one. And you can pin a comment with that link and you can put links on your channel page, all of it, from nothing. And there is a second thing which is bigger. Tik Tok and Facebook are rivers. A video gets its shot, it flows past,

and it is gone in 3 days. YouTube is a library. It is a search engine. A short you post tonight can still be pulling in viewers [music] and selling your PDF in 18 months because somebody typed a question into the search bar and your video was the answer. So, the game is not the ad money. Forget the ad money.

The game is using the biggest search engine for video on earth to sell a file you made once. I am going to show you the whole thing on this screen. Where the idea comes from, how I build the file, how I set up the links so they work on day one, the exact short format,

and the one thing about the title that most people get completely backwards. Let me start with the math so you know what you are actually aiming at. You are not aiming at 10 million views for $400. You are aiming at sales. Say your PDF is $27. Say your job pays 3,000 a month.

3,000 divided by 27 is 111 sales a month. That is under four sales a day. Now compare those two numbers honestly. To make 3,000 from shorts ad money, you would need something like 75 million views. To make 3,000 from your own PDF, you need four people a day to buy it. Same videos, same effort, completely

different outcome. That is the entire reason this works. And it is why the terrible RPM I opened with is actually [music] good news. It means most of your competition is chasing pennies while you are selling something. Step one, finding what to make. And on YouTube, this is different from every other platform. So,

watch carefully. On Tik Tok, you guess and the algorithm decides. On YouTube, people literally type their problems into a search box and YouTube will show you what they type. Watch my screen. I am going into the YouTube search bar and I am typing howto and then a topic. Let us say resume. Look at what drops down

underneath. Those suggestions are [music] real searches, real people. Typing that right now over and over. Now I do it again with different starters. Why does best way to what to do when every one of those gives me a new list. I am writing all of them down in a note beside me. Now here is the part almost

nobody does. I click into the top few videos on one of those searches and I read the comments. Look at this. Under a resume video, people are asking about gaps in employment, about changing careers at 40, about what to write when you have no experience. Those comments are your customers writing your product

description for you in their own words. I copy the exact phrases, not my summary, theirs. Because those exact words are going into my title later, and a title in the customer's own language beats anything clever you would invent. 20 minutes of that and you will have a topic and a list of 30 video ideas. Step

two, I pick the narrowest version of that topic. And this is where the money is decided. Not how to write a resume. Everybody has that. instead. What to put on a resume when you have a 2-year gap. Feel the difference. The first one is a category. The second one makes a specific person stop and think. That is

literally my situation. Narrow cells. Broad does not every single time. Step three, two files, [music] not one. And this is the piece beginners always get wrong. File one is free, 5 to eight pages. It solves one small piece of the problem completely. [music] You do not sell it. You trade it for an

email address. File two is the paid one, the full thing. Why too? Because a stranger who found you 11 seconds ago will not put their card in. They will absolutely take something [music] free. And that email is the real asset here. YouTube can strike your channel. Reach can vanish for reasons nobody explains.

An email list is yours forever and nobody can take it. The free PDF is the net. The paid PDF is the meal. Step four, building them faster than you think. I open a free design tool on my screen. I search their templates for guide or workbook and pick a plain clean one. Do not spend 3 days on design.

Nobody ever asked for a refund because the font was boring. Cover page, one page saying who this is for. Then the content, one idea per page, big text, lots of space because people read this on a phone. And then the last page of the free PDF, which is the most valuable page in the entire business, one line

about the paid version, and the link, no pressure, but everybody who finishes the free thing sees the paid thing at the exact moment they are most impressed with you. Export as PDF. 40 minutes. Done. Step five, setting up where the money comes in. I open PayHip on my screen. Gumroad works too, but PayHip's

free plan takes around 5% while Gumroad takes 10% [music] plus 50. And both add card processing on top. Add new product. Digital. Upload the paid PDF. [music] Title: Four lines about what is inside. Price, then a second product, the free PDF. Price set to zero, which asks for an email before it delivers. Publish two

links 12 minutes. Step six, [music] and this is the step that makes YouTube special, so do not skip it. I set up my links, and I do it in four places. Watch my screen. First, the channel. I go into channel customization, and there is a section for links. I add my free PDF

there. Those show up right on my channel page, which matters because people who like a short go look at your channel. Second, the description of every short, first line before anything else, [music] not buried at the bottom. Third, and this is the one that actually gets clicks, the pinned comment. After I post

a short, I comment on my own video with one [music] line about the free guide and the link, and I pin it to the top. Why does the pinned comment beat the description? Because on shorts, people are already in the comments. They swipe up to see what others are saying. Your pinned comment is sitting right there at

the top. The description takes an extra tap that most people never make. Fourth, I say it out loud in the video and put it as text on screen. Not everybody reads, not everybody listens. Cover both. Step seven, making the actual short. The first second is everything. Not the first 3 seconds, the first one.

So my first line is never a greeting, never hey guys, never welcome back. Those words are where views go to die. My first line is the viewer's problem in their own words. Watch me type this as text on the opening frame. If you have a gap on your resume, do not explain it in

the interview. Write this [music] one line instead. Look at what that does. The right person freezes. The wrong person swipes away, which is fine. Then the middle. I give one real, complete, usable thing in about 25 seconds. Not a teaser, an actual answer. This is where people cheat and it always backfires. They say the answer is in my link.

Nobody clicks that and YouTube notices when people leave unhappy. Give the thing away. Then the ending and I keep [music] it soft. I made a free one-page version of this with 11 more lines you can copy. It is in the pinned comment. Total length 30 to 45 seconds. And I make the last frame flow back into the

first so it loops cleanly because a person who watches your short twice is a very strong signal. One thing that will silently ruin all of this, never post a video with another platform's watermark on it. A Tik Tok watermark on a YouTube short is a signed confession that this is not native content and it gets

suppressed. Always export a clean version. Step eight, the title. And this is the part almost everyone gets backwards. On Tik Tok, titles barely matter. On YouTube, the title is how people find you in search 2 years from now. So, I do not write a clever title. I write the title as the exact question

a person types. Bad title. This resumeé trick is insane. Good title. What to write on a resume when you have an employment gap. The second one is boring. The second one is also going to be found by somebody in 19 months at 2 in the morning who desperately needs that answer and is in exactly the mood

to download a free guide. Boring and findable beats clever and invisible. That is the whole YouTube advantage and it is why your library keeps paying you long after you stop posting. I do the same in the description. [music] First line is the link. Then two or three sentences that naturally use the same

words a person would search. Step nine, volume and batching because this is the part that makes it survivable. Three shorts a day. That sounds brutal until you realize your PDF is your content calendar. Every page in it is a short. Every tip is a short. You will never sit staring at a blank screen wondering what

to post because you already wrote the list when you made the product. And I do not make them one at a time. I film six in one sitting back to back, same shirt, same spot. Then I cut and schedule them. Once the format is locked, one short takes me about eight minutes. Six of

them is under an hour and that is two days of content. Step [music] 10, reading the numbers. 10 minutes a week. Every Sunday, one question. What did my three best shorts say in the first second that my three worst ones did not? Then make five more of the winner. Now, let me be honest with you about a few

things because I do not want you blaming me in 6 weeks. First, about monetization since people always ask. To get full ad revenue, you need 1,000 subscribers plus either 10 million valid shorts views in 90 days or 4,000 watch hours. There is a lower tier at 500 [music] subscribers with 3 million shorts views in 90 days

that unlocks fan funding but not ad money. And if you do get in, you have to manually turn on the shorts monetization module in studio because views before you accept it do not count. But I want you to notice something. I put that near the end of the video on purpose because it does not matter much. you are selling

a PDF. The ad money is a small bonus that shows up later. Second, the [music] crackdown. YouTube renamed its old repetitious content rule to inauthentic content and it is being enforced hard. Mass-produced AI slop, lazy compilations, and channels pumping out identical loweffort videos are getting rejected. So, do not build a spam factory. Put your actual face or your

actual voice on it. Teach real things and you are fine. The people getting hit are the ones trying to automate their way past having anything to say. And third, the timeline. Month one, you build the two PDFs, you set up the links, and you post 90 shorts. Most get 400 views. It feels pointless. This is

the month everyone quits, and it is the month that decides everything. Month two, one short does something strange, 60,000 views. Your email list goes from nine people to 500 in 3 days. You get your first sale from a total stranger, and that feeling is worth the entire first month. Month three and four, some

of your old shorts start showing up in search. Now you are getting views on videos you posted eight weeks ago and forgot about. That is the library starting to work. And that is the actual difference between this and every other platform. On Tik Tok, you stop posting and the money stops in about a week. On

YouTube, the things you already made keep answering people's questions and keep sending them to your link. That is what quitting a job actually looks like. Not one lucky video. 150 small assets sitting in a library quietly working while you sleep. So, here is what I want you to do today. Before you close this,

open YouTube, go to the search bar, type howto and one topic you actually know something about. Write down every single suggestion that drops down. Then open the top three videos and read the comments for 15 minutes and copy the exact sentences people use to describe their problem. So, look, there are a lot
